Just terrible. Mediocre DJs and rude security and staff. Don’t give people free entry stamps if you don’t accept them later anyway. And don’t throw people out when they try to explain the issue, especially when they are offering to pay. Worst nightclub I’ve been to.

Horrible, wanted to go in for a drink and got held in line for 20 minutes while random people formed their own line and got let in first as they just appeared. Disgraceful

First off. Do not come to the Woolshed before 10-11 PM. The place is deserted.
Secondly, if you do not already have free entry (they hand out wristbands at every hostel to entice people to come), skip. Even the $5 isn't worth it.
The music seems good at first but the DJ(s?) currently employed there keeps switching to different songs right when you're getting into it, to the frustration of everyone on the floor. It's like they're trying to piss people off.
If you ever get an offer from somewhere else for a free drink at the Woolshed, do not fall for it. The glass of beer you'll receive is only slightly larger than a shotglass.

Finally, the security staff is horrendous. I've had many friends thrown out for no/false reasons, and recently I was their victim. They said I was "harassing bar staff" even though I had done no such thing and hadn't even been at the bar in over an hour. I don't mind them making a mistake, but it was handled very unprofessionally. The chances of this happening to you are of course statistically small, but at least you know what kind of staff they employ.

Had the worst night ever at this place. Some guy randomly grabbing at me and attacking me, I then told the manager, who didn't want to know 'too busy'. If he had any managerial skills they would of sorted this issue through removing the guy from the club, instead they let the guy stay and chucked me out for standing my ground that it was wrong. Have been to some rough clubs in my time and this tops it off at the worst.

Good sound system with Top 50's music playing. DJ just seeks from track to track. Wet T-shirt contests, free drinks for ladies, college/backpackers crowd. The only thing I enjoyed was their food.

This is a club with great Djs safe environment. And cheap drinks. Something on every night and the food down stairs is great too. Great way to meet new people.

I had to write because of how badly I was treated here. The guy in charge downstairs was so rude to me and that rarely happens because I'm a polite person. I was honestly skeptical about paying to get in and the second I walked up the stairs a really drunk idiot spilled his drink all over me. It was clear that everyone inside was way too trashed, so I immediately walked down and asked politely if I could get my money back since I just walked in and they said no. I asked the guy who seemed in charge. I wasn't yelling or anything and he goes to the bouncer, "just give her the money to get her out of my face." I honestly have never been treated so rudely by someone who I was being nice to. I wasn't even drunk. They clearly don't care how they treat people because they get enough drunken backpackers in to make money. Yet, they're still stingy. I wish I never came by here because it honestly ruined the night which was otherwise great. Go to O'Briens. The people there were so much nicer.

I often drop in for a meal when in Cairns. The food is always very good, many a time brilliant - especially for the price. A big saving over Cairns Esplanade prices and easily as good as many of the pricier venues. They are in the middle of an upgrade and the place is looking good. Well done Woolshed. Will be back again next week.
