The quintessential Melbourne stockbrokers haunt. Pretty good food, good beer selection, great selection of liquor, some good wines, and plenty of folks in suits. The chips are great and reasonably priced as is the list of mains on the menu.

Great place for after work drinks, can get a little crowded though.

Went along looking forward to a brilliant steak meal. At over $50 for this dish alone I was very disappointed. I've had better steak at local pubs for $25. I would have given 1 star but the atmosphere and service by our waiter was excellent.

Olde world bar downstairs. Excellent steak restaurant upstairs. Enjoyed a wonderful meal with friends. Steak cooked to perfection; extensive wine list. Outstanding staff. Highly recommended.

The setting is lovely, the ribs were excellent, the sides and deserts were tasty. However, for a place that sells itself as a steak house the main offering was very disappointing. The steak was over chared and tasted burnt - for $60 I expected a lot more. The lamb cutlets were also pretty underwhelming - oily, very small for the price with disappointing sides. I've visited this place a few times over the past 10 years and each time the quality seems to drop a bit further.

A half decent pub. Visited just after St Pat's day, so the alley was a little pungent, but the staff were friendly and the beer well poured. Toilets are a bit of a trek to find.

Good selection of beer and friendly staff. The steak sandwich was decent, although it won't be winning any awards. Pricing is a bit on the higher side although nothing too outrageous.

Good selection of beer, great pub environment. Central location, Decent pub food, good outdoor area. Gets really busy in the evenings especially fridays.

I like the fact that this pub, and it clearly a pub rather than a bar, exists, as it is increasingly becoming towered over by the neighbouring high rises, but its dark and cosy, when my own personal taste is light and airy. The food is constantly good though; I frequent it quite a lot with a large crowd who always eat, and there have just been a couple of poor dishes, so nots a bad hit to miss ratio. Decent selection on taps and an extensive wine list. The outside area is usually packed. And disappointingly smokey.

Beautiful old heritage pub. Awesome menu range. Cottage pie was delicious & the Apple pie Sunday was sensational. Warm & friendly staff & service.
