Unfortunately I left The essential Ingredient, Rozelle today upset and angry. Last week I bought this coffee pot ( pictured), the second time I used it the handle melted off. Today I went back to The Essential Ingredient, Rozelle to ask for a replacement. I spoke to the manager who informed me that he would have to send off the coffee pot to be investigated. This would take up to 3 weeks and it was not guaranteed that I would receive a replacement as it looked as if the flame had been up so high it had burnt off the handle! Well.. I mean, what a load of rubbish, there is no way the flame on my stove top can carry up a whole 2 inches to melt a coffee pot handle! I paid $35 for this piece of junk. After explaining further that in no way could my gas stove top possibly burn off the handle I got the same response from the manager. I felt like I was the bad guy trying to con them out of a coffee pot, when in fact it is I who have been duped. I stormed out of the shop. I am left with no coffee pot and will have to buy a new one. I am NEVER going back to The Essential ingredient Rozelle. :(

Excellent range of boutique kitchen ware and cooking paraphernalia. For 2 decades has been an trusty resource for bday and Xmas presents though always got bring a little extra as will always see something you need at home

Did a knife skills course here and it was excellent! Very good value for money in terms of engagement with the facilitator, skills learnt and overall enjoyment. There is a great range of products here for cooking and food enthusiasts.

Received a cookbook as a birthday gift which I already had. Took back with receipt 4 days after purchase to exchange but was told they don't exchange books. Confused by this and asked why not and was told it was policy and it says it on the receipt. Hadn't noticed this and certainly wouldn't expect it. Sensible and courteous business policy would be to explain this at the time of sale (or to offer to exchange if purchased for a gift). Disappointing as The Essential Ingredient has otherwise been a great store to shop it in the past.
