Very friendly and helpful owner. Rooms and showers were super clean. It even had one bathtub. Free breakfast, parking and WiFi and right opposite the beach.

Greeted by very friendly and professional staffs. Rooms and common areas such as toilet and kitchen were well-maintained, much cleaner than its competitors. Would definitely recommend this hostel if you need a cheap stay in Perth.

Sad to say, after many stays here that the last time I stayed and this time was quite frustrating.
Last time I tried to make a booking, no one would answer the phone. (Mon, 30 Oct 17 I tried to call)
This time I pressed the buzzer out side and no one came to let me in, finally another guest came and let me in.
I pressed the buzzer again at the reception counter I waited (as the security screen was up I thought the staff won't be long now No)
I tried calling the number - 08 9227 1400, many times (I knew it was ringing as the phone station was ringing but the phone was not there).
I pressed the buzzer a few more times still no staff came.
Finally a staff member arrived she had no Idea I was there I was told I needed to press the buzzer, I pointed to the man sitting on the couch in view of the buzzer and counter and said to him, was I pressing the buzzer, he confirmed that yes I was. I also informed the staff member that I tried calling numerous times, she said the phone must have a flat battery. (she did not seem to really care at all)
I said to her that in the comments area of the booking, that I would be arriving around 10PM.
At 10pm at night after traveling most of the day and night Frustrating.
The room was of a good standard as it is most times I stay here.response / report this review -

Getting the extra star from 3 to 4 because of the staff friendly mind.. but the rooms need a good paint brush, and the cleaners should learn to clean behind the doors, as in behind the bathroom door, also the room had a very bad indoor closed off room smell, but it helped a lot getting the window up and cooling the room down with the aircon.. they forgot to change my bed covers in a whole week, but when saying so to the reception, they where very fast at fixing it.. all in all its a ok standard and at that price it's pretty much what I expected, except of cleaning and that the walls was really in need of paint.. have had a good time here till now.. 😊

We enjoyed our stay last August in Emperor's Crown Hostel. The bed was really comfy and the Family Room is really spacious. Fully equipped kitchen is added advantage. The staff is really helpful since he shows us the room and also answers to our questions.

The double was very comfortable and sheets very clean. Also I agree that the Emporers Crown is way cleaner than most hostels & so I give 5 stars. I liked having a fridge and kettle - essential in my world. However; if you could have 2 UHT milk pods, coffee cup and spoon there on arrival that would be more welcoming. I bought my own teabags and wouldn't expect that to be provided in a hostel but those little touches would be brilliant. Also the kitchenopening time needs to be changed to 7am on weekends like the weekdays because if you are going out early you can't eat before you leave. The location is Central & near a blue CAT station which is ideal. It is quiet and there is no unruly behaviour again a bonus in compared to other hostels I have stayed where I got a couple of sleepless nights. Well done, great effort.😊 would definitely stay here again. Thank you

I stayed almost one week at this place and I had a great time.
First of all, I was checked in by Tommy who gave me a 5 stars service He called me by my name everytime during the process, I really appreciated it. He then carried my luggage to my room, showed me around and explained everything I needed to know. I felt like a special guest but I'm pretty sure they do it with everyone and that's a wonderful attention.
Only thing, Tommy is not a smiling person but I guess that's how it is :)
Lina & Julius, two other staff member were always very helpful, especially when there were not hot water in the shower They fixed the problem in 5 minutes and did apologise for the inconvenience.
The hostel itself is well located, 5 minutes walking from the CBD, quiet and very clean (the cleaning is made by professionals there, not by backpackers who don't care).
My bad point will be the kitchen opening hours which is ridiculous in my opinion, they should work on this.
It's also very cold considering that there is no heater in the room But you can always borrow another blanket from the reception.
So guys, ywell deserve the 5 stars eheh !
Being an 4/5 stars hotel receptionist myself, I can just say that this was the most professional hostel staff I had the chance to met so far, good job ! Keep going.
If I do come back to Perth, I can only come back to Emperor's Crown hostel.

Such a nice place. Extremely clean and very quiet. Totally unexpected for a hostel! Very good value for money. Great base for any City center activities. Facilities all clean, well used but not outdated. Would stay here again.

Great staff, clean rooms, very tidy facilities and comfortable beds (not luxury, but better than alot of hostels.

Good clean hostel with a nice manager and okay facilities. One bed was a little uncomfortable but overall this hostel is good value for money. We only stayed a night due to short term notice so didn't experience much of the atmosphere but the common area seemed nice. Sheets were clean and warm. Location is good for the city. Wifi was bad for us and crockery hire was slightly inconvenient but very understandable. Overall, this is a basic but clean, no frills hostel but nice to stay in for a couple of nights.

Its near to the center and the supermarket. Everthing is clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly. There are also parking areas behind the building. Its nice there
