I absolutely love this place. Probably the best whisky menu in Australia. Hopefully one day I'll be able to order one of their top shelf McCallans at $880 a shot. There are heaps of more affordable whiskies available. The beer is good and the atmosphere is great.

The Baxter Inn is one of Sydney's best kept secrets! This hidden gem is precisely that! Well hidden in a basement, concealed in a dark alley, but we'll worth hunting down.

It has a noisy, but contagiously cheerful atmosphere, and a stunning array of whiskies from which to choose. You're guaranteed to find something to tickle your tastebuds and/or suit your wallet.

Almost bucket list worthy!

Amazing selection, great atmosphere, helpful staff, not much more you can ask for.

Make sure you know where you're actually going (is a little tricky to find), get in early to get a seat/table and enjoy!

Awesome bar for an after work drink. The big sell is their huge collection of whiskeys from all over the world. Get in early as the place gets packed really quickly. The only downside is the humidity in the place sometimes can leave you sweating at times. Other than it's a fantastic bar to check out

I tried my first Japanese whisky there, Hibiki 17great experience. The barman was friendly, gave me some advices and we even got some free nibbles. The place is really cool but very busy. We had to stand for 10min before finding a seat. They have a great choice of liquors, go and check it out!

Great atmosphere and really cool location! There are so many choices of Whiskey and Whisky to choose from, it's hard to know where to start.. Excellent place to go if you appreciate Whiskey/Whisky.

One of Sydney's hidden gems!
This underground speak easy has such an amazing atmosphere; feels as if you are being taken right back to the 20's. There may be quite a wait to get in, especially on weekends, but DO NOT give up, it is well worth it.

Perfect place to go out for a drink. Hidden but a precious adventure worth checking out. Lovely vibes in a low lit environment with staff members willing to provide recommendations for drinks.

The best whisky bar in Sydney. Amazing selection of single malts. Go early if you want to get a seat on Fri/Sat. Very helpful and accommodating bartenders who will make whatever you ask, even if not on the menu.

Awesome bar with an old-school, speakeasy vibe. If you can, try to grab a seat at the bar and chat up the friendly, talented bartenders. The whisky list is extensive, and the cocktails are delicious. Can't wait to go back!

Great buzzing hidden bar with very friendly borders. Nice ambience with a high wall of alcohol behind the bar. Good selection of whiskies, but also makes delicious cocktails.

Best selection of whiskey in Sydney.

It's expensive but no different from other whiskey places.

The atmosphere is cool, dark and sexy. Go here on a romantic date or with family. Anything goes. Wouldn't recommend for young kids though.

Queues get bad in the evening so try to get here early.

Easily the best bar in Sydney. Incredible selection of spirits and beers (both tap and bottled) with a very cool 'speakeasy' atmosphere. Free pretzels too!

Reception can be patchy inside but you can ask the bar for the wifi password to stay partially online.

I loved it. Tucked away on Clarence street on a circa 120 sq.m basement. Excellent low dimmed lighting, fantastic ambience. We had screw drivers for A$10 each and couple of cocktails at A$18-A$25, super imaginative but too many calories I guess 😊. The crowd is mature and I would assume late 20s and up, mostly male maybe @ ~70% but few nice ladies also frequent this place. Music good old stuff, rock n roll, rock & blues, jazzy etc.
Overall, my preferred Bar in Sydney!
