  After ordering we waited 20minutes to be told our order had not been printed and they were starting our order but we'd not been forgotten. Another 20 minutes later we asked where the order was at, no one ever came back to us with an answer. After 55 minutes and asking twice we left to grab junk food as we'd simply ran out of time. Terrible communication and service.

  Great location and good Aussie fayre, however could be more imaginative with menus. Geelong West is so hip now, we need interesting and creative dishes to reflect emerging trends in food. However, staff always pleasant and the parma nights are great value.

  Recently went to the Barking Dog with my friend for my Birthday. After asking for our grubby table to be wiped, our waitress gave the table a very cursory wipe. Returning to us about 10 minutes later, she seemed entirely disinterested, while she took our wine & food order. The drinks were plonked on our table with no care. Our calamari, at $20 a plate, was not at all good and again plonked on our table.
  I am saddened that there seems to be no genuine care lately from many cafe/restaurant staff. We are the customer, we deserve some care, some interaction with the people who serve our meals. In light of recent cuts to penalty rates, I understand the anger hospitality staff must feel, but this was to be a happy outing, a bit of a celebration if you will and it was very dampened by the disservice we received. Going out for a meal is meant to be a highlight, a change from cooking at home, where ine expects to have good food, good service & fun. I would not return to the Barking Dog, as we received none of these experiences.
