I love this place! I have never had a bad meal, the food is amazing! A very relaxed atmosphere and the staff are beyond friendly!

My family and I, thirteen of us in all, recently celebrated my birthday at Shanikas and I really want to give feedback on a fantastic night. The food was great and I was impressed that our main meals came out in quick succession and no one had to wait for their meal while everyone else was eating, which can often happen with a large group. The service from all of the staff was impeccable but I really want to single out our main waiter for the night who was Chris. What an absolute asset he is to your business, he was polite, friendly, always there for your every need but without being intrusive in any way. And to top my evening off, and without me knowing, he even organised a profiterole birthday cake to be made for me, how's that for service!! So I really want to thank Chris for making our evening so enjoyable, but I also want to thank the chef and his/her team for the great food, and of course my birthday cake for which I was very grateful.

Begrudgingly one star.
As one of our party was not a fan of Gnocci upon ordering we requested a change to an alternate pasta within her dish. This was graciously accepted. (With no further commentary from our wait staff)
Upon receipt of the bill there was however a not nice or gracious surprise an extra $3 for the change in pasta on top of the very expensive dine-in prices!
The staff were also quite pretentious, I know what to do with my napkin I don't need you to put it in my lap and why the giant pepper mill? It's black pepper not saffron, at these prices surely they can afford a pepper mill for each table!
Two pastas and one lemonade for over $60 (for lunch) what an unappetizing joke! We won't be back.response / report this review -

The night we went it was very busy but staff handled it very well. Always attentive, the food and service was of a high standard. The only down side is it is a little cramped.

Amazing food, brilliant service and smiles all round. A great place for something a little fancy. Don't forget to ask about the dessert platter!!!

The staff here are amazing, so friendly and professional. Their service is unequaled in the area. The food is superb. Have never had a bad meal. Lost just the one star as I believe its a little pricey for a restaurant in the burbs. Cant recommend it high enough as long as you have the cash!!

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary here, and it definitely did not disappoint! Excellent service and absolutely divine food! I had organised a flower arrangement to be delivered as well, which was waiting on our table when we arrived. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone. Best restaurant experience I've had so far. Also, no constant "how's your meal" questions whilst you're in the middle of eating, which is definitely welcomed! Thanks to all the incredible staff there for a memorable experience!
