Good for a quick stop. Bathrooms are clean, kitchen is well equipped but some of the appliances and areas could do with a good clean or replacement. Right by a creek and the scenery is nice. Friendly check in and $20/night for two people is a great price. The traffic noise does pick up in the morning but you are by a main road so to be expected.

Super quiet spot near the highway. Road noise too far to affect sleep. WiFi was surprisingly excellent! Toilets and hot showers very good. Great overnight spot. Kitchen has LCD TV.

Lovely place to stop if you are travelling north and looking for a place to rest for a decent price. It's right on the highway. The bed was comfortable and the cabin air conditioned.

This small, very quiet and peaceful caravan site is tucked away behind a shop and loads of trees and foliage, which easily dampened down the noise from the Bruce Highway. Hot showers were available, amenities block had the essentials, but not in the best condition. This was everything we needed for our one night stop and early start the following day. Dogs were welcome and there was somewhere to walk them.

Family Run and Owned. DOG FRIENDLY !! Quiet and Peaceful, set back from the Highway. Three nice big drive thru sites, that are very popular, so book ahead !
Can be crowded in Cane harvesting season (June - November), but the cane workers are very lovely. A very neat and tidy camp kitchen with fridge, microwave, toasters, kettles, T.V., BBQ's, washing up facilities. Owners often put on free sausage sizzle when the park if full and buzzing. Park Sells Fresh eggs, ice-creams, local honey, homemade jams and relishes. Ballantyne's Strawberries are on the Highway from June through till September. Local Hotel is back up and running after the rebuild from the fire in 2012, GREAT CHEF !!! Town also has a butcher, electrical store, hairdressers, newsagency, service station, mechanics (RACQ), bowls club, school(Kindy and P - 12), Police station, Post office, and two boat ramps at St. Helens Beach 13 klms from Calen. All your needs can be met in this lovely little town, saves going into the big city, and keeps the little town alive. Stop in and give it a go. All it is missing is a dump point, but with planning ahead, you can dump in Proserpine 74 klms north or Mackay 54 klms south on your way in or out of Calen.
