Great atmosphere and service. Quality ingredients snd not oily like so many other indian restaurants. To thicken their sauces they use ground cashews.

After a few wonderful experiences especially with the lovely young waitress who is very knowledgeable I unfortunately will no longer come to this restaurant. I drive 40 mins to get there as the food is delicious but last night I experienced probably the worst customer service from the owner that I think I have ever had. I had placed an order and was told that the dish I ordered didn't fit my dietary requirements. I asked for something similar that does (usually the young girl helps me to work this out but as the owner said she would sort it I trusted this). When I got it, I was a little disappointed as it wasn't what was expected. So I called the shop just to find out where I had gone wrong in my order so that next time I order and drive 40 mins 1 way to get it, it would be how I had had it the 5 previous times. The owner was so extremely rude and attacking. When I tried to explain very calmly that I was only trying to sort it out for the next time she kept cutting me off and yelling. She had helped me previously and was lovely and when I told her this she said "I've never served you before". When I tried to tell her that she had her response was "I have 3 restaurants and 100's of customers and can't remember your order". The point I guess was that of course I didn't expect her to remember me or my order. But I would expect an owner of 3 restaurants to at least stop and listen if a customer has a concern. I was so upset with how rude she was that my husband called her back. She was as rude to him and when he told her that she will lose a customer over her behaviour she said "I don't care. I have customers". To add on to a complaint further down about her regulars, this is the vibe you get when you walk in. She is extremely lovely (to the point that you think they are friends) to the customers that she knows but not so much if you aren't one of these people. It's quite disappointing as the food is delicious and the young waitress is amazing. I never wanted a refund or replacement. Just a way to work out how to better order next time.

A wholly unpleasant experience, caused by a wholly unpleasant owner.
After over 40 years of dining out, and very many Indian restaurants along the way, my partner and I were dismayed with the unpleasant quality of our entrees. (I've bought better frozen samosas from Dandenong market.) When we decided to not proceed with our mains we were asked what was wrong, and after trying to politely explain that we were disappointed and wished to leave, the owner proceeded to argue that her 22 years in business meant that we were obviously wrong in our assessment and were apparently not entitled to our opinion. When we insisted that there was nothing to be gained by staying, she started insulting my partner. She was so much more interested in arguing than letting us settle the bill, that she threatened to call the police when we indicated we wanted to leave, and then unbelievably, opened up the discussion to other diners (obviously friends / regulars) in the restaurant! Frankly I'm glad she has regulars, because with her complete lack of interest in providing anything resembling real hospitality to new customers, she'll need them. Avoid this place unless you like bland food that can easily be done better at home, an over-bearing host and a good argument.
