Oh wow, we were here for other business but dropped by to have a quick dinner and I'm very impressed.
The food is very authentic and serving portions are quite big,the coconut rice is well cooked and fragrant and curry a mix of various spice and flavour.
Ambience is great too and staff friendly.
I ordered takeaway via OZfoodhunter, which is indicated as the preferred method by the restaurant. Unfortunately my order was lost, and I ended up waiting an extra ~40mins than originally told. While the food was very good, the team at Rama need to resolve their operational issues if they hope to retain customers.
I just ordered from this place for the first time.
It was nothing short of amazing!
Delivery before delivery time scheduled, food was nice and warm, wonderful portion sizes (the containers we were actually full!- which I have found to be rare these days), and the food was simply divine! All 4 dishes was absolutely outstanding!
Thank you so much!
I will definitely be back
London food is good. But that night the wait was intolerable. Everyone in the restaurant were going crazy cause of waiting time
We started with the best fish cakes I've ever had and pork spring rolls. Then shared mains of Pad SeeYew, beef and chicken green curry..just down right delicious. Highly Recommended
Best Thai restaurant in Melbourne. Food is delicious and tasty especially the pad thai, green curry and grilled meats. Have been coming in for a number of years and never disappoint.
Rama does Melbourne style Thai relatively well, relatively quickly, and fairly consistently. A go-to takeaway for me when I'm in the mood for something comforting and greasy. Green curry is a winner.
I've been here a number of times over the years & have always enjoyed their delicious, reasonably priced, food. Their menu has a very good range enabling us to find something for everyone's tastes. They were also prepared to modify a dish to cater for an onion allergy. It's a small place, so booking a table is recommended. Parking on Burke Rd can be a problem & you may need to use side streets, but it will definitely be worth the effort.
Love this small but cosy Thai restaurant just at the end of Burke road. Friendly service, lovely food and reasonable price. Not many Thai people come here but we found the taste to be really good. Takes credit card. They also do free delivery around the area.
I've been coming to Rama Thai for years. It's a favourite for me as far as the food is concerned, but as far as the service goes, well that's another story.
The restaurant isn't huge, and when really busy, it can seem cramped. But they've "modernised" it a little and it's a nice atmosphere. Parking is usually good, as it's on a stretch of Bourke Road where there's only a few other restaurants, and one of them isn't even open at night, so parking has never been an issue.
I'd normally order Chicken Curry Puffs, but they only have vegetable ones. So I ordered the Golden Canape, which is deep fried marinated chicken on bread (toast) with a chilli sauce. Let me tell you; these are HEAVENLY. They are SO good. I haven't seen these on any other Thai restaurant menus (and I go to Thai places a lot). They're delicious and I could almost eat them as main meal too, lol. For my main, I ordered the Chicken Fried Rice (of course). This was delicious too and made according to my modification requests.
I did find it bad that the waitress didn't know answers to questions about the food on the specials board. That's something staff should be trained in. And the food came out quicker last night than other times, because they weren't quite so busy. But the food is delicious and really tasty and if you don't mind slow service at times, this is a restaurant I highly recommend.
