Would not return! The food was very average, everything looked and tasted like it was bought from a supermarket and heated and served especially the kids menu. Chicken curry was bland fatty and the advertised naan bread was just commercial pita bread. Cajun barramundi was over cooked and sprinkled with master foods Cajun spice once cooked. The staff are friendly but walk around with head sets and walking talkies talking to each other like they are special forces or something. Seemed over the top.

Your response to my review fails to answer my main objections.
    1. You MAY have a right, legally, to VIEW identification, but you have no right to SCAN it and retain it for as long as you like. You are not state or federal police. I never minded showing my licence, or writing my name and address, as was done for many years before.
    2. I didn't object to removing my hat, but I will NOT be barked at by any rude, ignorant staff, who have obviously never had ANY customer service training. If I had been asked courteously I would have gladly complied.
    3. You may be a club and not a pub, with your rules and regulations to enforce, but learn how to treat potential customers with respect and courtesy, rather than rudeness.
Thanks for your lecture on RSL procedure, but you have wasted your words and missed my points completely.

Excellent customer service, good menu albeit a little pricey for an RSL

Terrific. Great place to go for a very good meal at very competitive prices. The decor is better than most pubs and closer to restaurant standards. Staff are friendly and efficient. I had a steak that was better than anywhere else than I've had on the island, and most other places. The pokies are hidden away and non-intrusive, which makes the place even better than most. Go there, you won't be disappointed.

An absolutely stunning RSL! Games room was good, staff were almost all friendly. I ordered the eye fillet medium-rare, I was a tad dissapointed because it came out a bit on the rarer side, but still, the sauce was beautiful and pumpkin was to die for!
Overall, happy customer and would definitely come back!

Friendly staff, recommended a few great places for me to visit on Phillip island. Had the salmon and I must say it's not a very praise worthy dish. Seasoned too salty and the drizzle was too creamy. Worth making a special trip? Not unless you're a member.

I work in the food Industry in the city. Having a holiday place down in Cowes we decided to go to the RSL to watch the footy. My daughter and grandson who is 2 come down to pick us up. So they can in to get us . I went to the bar to get a drink for my daughter and asked if l got get at glass of water for my Grandson. They lady behind the bar who was serving me was very rude and said the water is on the other side in a rude voice. A local was at the bar and he tried to help me and and she was very rude to him as well. A few people found this very poor. My Husband and l decided next day we pop in and have drink and order hot chips. OMG again we got another lady who told me they can't make hot chips as the machine was broken. Then l when went back up to the bar l heard her ask a local if he wanted chips or vegetables. So because we were visiting we couldn't get chips. I found that customer service is very poor and very rude . I will never come back there at all. I wouldn't recommend Cowes RSL for visitors at all. If it wasn't for visitors coming to the island those 2 lady's wouldn't have a job. I have never been treated like this before. If my staff treated customers like this they wouldn't have job. My saying is always treat a customer how you like to be treated

We are regular patrons of the RSL and always enjoy our time there. It's great that part of the proceeds go to support our returned service men and women.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Great variety in the menu. The Seniors Roast Lamb and dessert were incredible value for money ($15 each 2 courses). The Chef's special Burbon Beef short ribs were spectacular and also good value.
