Birthday celebrations. 15 people. Several of us got fish and chips. Very soggy and tasteless. Appearance was great. Very disappointed and left hungry. Could have done better at fish shop. My other guess did enjoy there meals. Some did have minor complaints. Would never go for a group function again. I dont understand how a chef could get fried fish wrong. Please look into this matter as it was the poorest l have Ever encountered. Sad as it was my birthday.

Considering how much their meals cost you would expect to go to a decent bathroom/toilet. Half the toilets are broken. Go to wash my hands and the whole tap lifts up out of the basin.
Staff were quite rude.
We used to love this pub once upon a time but wouldnt recommend it now.

Food is very average, you think for this part of Melbourne your food would be better or at least on par to a decent pub. Great for kids with the play ground but stay out of the public bar, locals/regulars are not friendly.

Food was nothing special. Edible but not memorable. The venue was full of kids running around and parents doing their best to get on with their meals. Staff were very serious. Didn't get a smile from anyone behind the bar or when ordering food.

Great pub with a real country feel.large great meals. Steaks brilliant so are the parma's and the salmon.

Lovely little pup. Good pub food at a good price. Kids eat free on Thursdays (one per paying adult) means we had dinner and drinks for under $60. Tasty food. Well presented and well cooked. Lovely servers and great atmosphere. Support a small local and enjoy a great feed and a beer.

I really want to like this place, but it just does not stand up to what it could offer. We arrive on a Saturday winters day for lunch and the fire is not lit, the heater is hardly on and the staff are grumpy. And we are cold.
I get my nicer drink from the grumpy bar staff and then to find my glass has two companies advertising their business on the glass. I don't expect to go to one business and see advertising for others. Poor form.
The food: love it. Great tasting, big serves. However, the kids meal came out 30minutes before entree, so while he ate everyone sat around and the while we ate he had no one to play with as we were all eating. Even when the mains came out there was 5minute's between each person. There were only 7other tables of small groups there so they we're not busy. We were a table of 8 so not large.
Meals coming out for one table all together is a must in this line of business.
Overall very disappointed. The place has such potential and the owners are blowing it.response / report this review -

Too lazy to put a sign on the doors on Anzac day to say when they would be open and when I found one unlocked door at 11:45 AM I was told they were not open till 12, also told they did not need signs because the doors were locked (not!). When I went in again at 12:02 to buy a bottle of wine to go to a family lunch. I was told it was not yet 12 PM (as they took their time from an old mantel clock, not the digital efpos machine). Finally was sold a bottle for double the going rate by a rude barman. Try to avoid this hole.

Great venue and location. Meal was spoilt as it was an hour wait for children's dessert to come out, and a two year can't wait that long as people with children might appreciate. Asked 3 members of staff to bring it out and one twice and they all failed. Hopeless service.

Where do I start? We waited 10 minutes to be seated. 10 minutes at the bar to order drinks and then another 10 minutes to order.Our meals came out 40 minutes later, my vegetables were cold and there was a whole 3 beans on the plate.My friends steak came out so cold that the butter on it couldn't even melt, he sent it back.Another friend said the Scotch Fillet steak was not nice at all.There were no bread rolls and twice I asked, the 2nd time I was told that they had come out and I had missed out, no they hadn't as I was watching and waiting. Every time someone went to the bar to order a drink the wait was minimum 10-15 minutes.It took over 3/4 of an hour to clear our table of some of the used dishes and then even longer for the rest.I can't say much for the service there as there is nonepoor service and poor meals, such a shame as we used to like going there.
