Jan Spate and team have once again excelled in the treatment and care for my animal this morning.
She has cared for my animals for over 11 years.
Jan is a humane, diligent, trustworthy vet and I'd go as far as saying the Saint of All Creatures .
Her no nonsense professional demeanour is valued by many animal mums and dads.
I can only sing Jan and her teams praises for all the hard work , beautiful, devoted love they give to each and every pet that enters her room.

Jan has been our vet for over 15 years she has been there for all of us with our sick and injured pets that we love dearly. Jan is a vet for the love of the animals and theirs owners, she is a compassionate woman and the best vet that Canberra has, we would be lost without Jan. Jan is not in it for the lining of her pocket she does it for the love of our pets. My Jack Russell got mauled last year by a German Shepherd Jan classed it as her worst dog attack, where my poor dog had his lungs ripped out of his chest cavity, I was delirious and in my delirium couldn't find Jan's number which made me more frantic as I knew as a dog owner I wouldn't be able to afford a normal veterinary surgeon. My dog was bleeding to death - even though it was 7.45pm Jan said bring him straight out she operated for over an hour til after 9pm repairing my dogs lungs and stitching him back together again. He was a mess. Jan did everything she could for him, for a week I had daily visits out to Jan's where he was monitored and given painkillers and antibiotics. After a week he contracted a lung infection where we did have to put my dog down. Milo and I were given time together before he left us and I was able to mourn in the surgery where i was given chocolate as my sugar levels had dropped dramatically as my lil dog was my best mate. If I had of gone to another surgeon I would not have been able to afford the vet fees but thanks to Jan and her team they tried everything to save my dogs life and I could afford to pay my vet fee.
we cannot thank you enough Jan you are the best Veterinary Surgeon in Canberra. We love you Dearly and so do our pets.

Came across Jan through our lady at the GSDA. Jan was fantastic, compassionate & her fees were more than reasonable. Happy to have found an excellent vet for our GSD.

Jan is brilliant. She cares about people and their pets. She cares about the animals.
I had an 'unnamed vet' in Canberra who wouldn't even give my dog pain medication until I went and got $800 cash after being hit by a car.
Years later I had a little dog break his leg, Jan fixed him up and I had no money on me. She called the next day to check on the dog. See the difference?
Jan is a wonderful human being and a brilliant vet.

I barely had to wait at all and she diagnosed my cats kidney problem within minutes and gave him fluids. I was not charged at all that day. I must bring him back for the next four days for same fluid process which will be $20 per day. And that's the total cost of things I couldn't believe it! She doesn't beat around the bush and waste time. I honestly could not find a bad word to say about my experience! That is hands down the cheapest vet bill and it was a god send financially. I will never go to another vet again. I live in queanbeyan and have no problem driving all the way to hall for my pets to see Jan. she is wonderful and very reassuring yet honest. She doesn't mess around or consider anything else but the animal and how to help. Thank you so much Jan
