The $500 bond for people under the age of 25 is a joke. Most people under the age of 25 are students who struggle with money as it is. To charge a $500 bond is unexceptable and then I was told that I would get it straight back when I checked out. This was untrue and I now have to wait 5 business days. I did not receive any information prior to arrival stating I would have to pay this amount. Lucky the room was nice and the view was good.

Pathetic organisation and services
1) tried to double charge us on check in by saying only 1 day was paid for (not true, entire 9 days was paid for)
2) we booked a porta-cot. On arrival, no porta cot available, had been double booked. Had to go out and buy our own
3) room phone failed on day 3, unable to make any calls out or receive calls
4) clothes dryer failed on day 2
Will never bother to stay here again.

Melbourne is one of the top 10 most livable cities according to The Economist, and to experience it, I tried staying in a serviced apartment. Picked the Melbourne short stay apartments. The location was very convenient - accessible to CBD, shops, transport. Great to have a kitchen, able to get some groceries nearby to cook something. Views from high floor was good. Good experience.

Reception was very helpful and friendly at check-in, concierge isn't always there despite name plates being placed on the desk. Apartments are very clean but can get very stuffy inside if you don't turn on the aircon; inner room doesn't circulate well so can take a while to cool down. Very little was given in their complimentary tea and biscuits (which are supposed to last a week!). Overall great place to stay for the price paid.
