What is cat fostering??
Cat fostering means temporarily caring for a cat in your home until it is adopted. Foster carers provide a safe, calm environment for cats that would otherwise be in a shelter.
How do I know if I am ready to adopt a cat??
Cats can live for 15 to 20 years, so it is worth thinking about your lifestyle, living situation, and long term plans before adopting. If you can provide a safe indoor environment, regular feeding, vet care, and companionship, you are likely ready.
How long does the adoption process take??
Most rescues have an application and approval process that can take a few days to a couple of weeks depending on the age of the cat/kitten. Some hold adoption events where same-day adoptions are possible.
What do I need to have ready before bringing a cat home??
At minimum: a litter tray, food and water bowls, cat food, a bed or soft blanket, a scratching post, and a carrier for transport. A quiet room to start them in is also helpful.
