Did a lesson with kiteboarding Cairns at Palm Cove. We ended up doing the lesson off Double Island as the conditions weren't ideal along the coast. The place is a paradise with waist deep flat water. The wind was very consistent and the bottom was sand. My instructor Andy was also very patient and and took his time to explain stuff. They also have a couple of other fun activities at Palm Cove and Yorkeys Knob. Great people and highly recommend them!

My experience with Kite Boarding Cairns was awful.

There was no wind but they still insisted I take the lesson - I spent the time on the beach - there wasn't enough wind to fly the kite. $200 wasted

The second lesson was on a real blustery day and the waves were very big it was very unpleasant at Palm Cove and there we rocks on the sea bed - I had to walk over.

Palm Cove is not shallow and is rocky - a horrible place to learn.

There are better places to learn to kite surf - a shallow beach with a sandy sea bed would be much better.

Go to Yorkeys Knob or Port Douglas if you want to learn kitesurfing in Cairns

Took several lessons with Luke last season who expertly guided me every step of the way from complete novice to being independent. Very approachable and friendly. Would recommend to anyone looking to learn to go see the guys at Kiteboarding Cairns.

I have take kitesurfing lessons all over Australia and I must say Kite Boarding Cairns was hands down the best. The instructor was attentive, made me feel very welcome and safe through out my lesson. They used the latest equipment, including radio helmets, which made things so much easier when learning to ride the board. Definitely a happy customer :)

I loved it! I was a bit scared at first, but Luke and Andrew made me feel so at ease. They are so professional, knowledgeable and passionate about the sport, and their positivity is infectious. Thanks to them, I will be able to kite surf solo very soon!! Highly recommend this company! : )
