it's a man-made lagoon, but hey, it's awesome. its huge so you don't feel like you're always next to other people. there's a kids area so you're not surrounded by kids if you don't want to, either. pretty clean. this area is great since the beaches at cairns are non-existent. you can just chill here all day and in between meals which are all nearby.

While I was in cairns for a week , I spent most of my times around this pool. so chilled and great access to everything. very safe and convenient to leave your stuff next to the pool and enjoy the time.

It is a free of charge public swimming pool open until 9pm. It is so good with well maintained facilities and changing room. The lifeguards always patrol too. Just feel free to jump into the water. The deepest level is just 1.5m. Good view from the pool to the sea, especially at the evening.

A lovely swimming pool by the sea The views are great. Very kid friendly. Not very deep. U can sit in or outside the pool if u don't want to swim. Great time for the entire family. Nice shower and changing room facilities. Few limited lockers to keep your belongings but it gets over fast.

Love 😍 this public pool. Clean and even got a sand beach. Open from 6:00-21:00. (except Wednesday from 12:00-21:00) There are lifeguards and security.

This is the perfect place to bring your kids or to come and enjoy yourself. Free, beautiful, safe, friendly with lots to do and lots of restaurants and cafes just across the road.

Fantastic. Water was cold but very refreshing on such hot days. Love the sand areas and the fountain. Great place to stay, and it's free!

Cairns surprised me. I really had a good time here. I think I ate kangaroo and crocodile there at a touristy pub in town. They all laugh when you ask about Foster's Lager. No beach, just a tidal mudflat that seems like it is 5 miles from the water but the Beachfront Public pool is very cool, I just do not do public pools. Very crowded, kinda dirty. Lot's of people on Holiday backpacking and sleeping in the bushes and such. Very nice Marina where we caught a big shuttle boat out to a floating restaurant on the Coral Sea to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef. All of our companions laundry was stolen from the laundromat next to our hotel that had a nice bar inside and out. Bats the size of chimpanzees straight out of the Wizard of Oz frittering about in the trees in town during the day and leaving foot thick piles of guano on parked cars that reduces them to piles of slag in days. I really want to get back there to see what the place is really like.

Great location next to the pier. Perfect for cooling off and relaxing. The large pool has Sandy beaches and lifeguards. Open 6am to 9pm. Warm showers and dressing rooms.

I can't believe a facility like this is free for public use. It is a wonderful pool with a view that is simply one of a kind - especially the bird life (wink wink). If you visit on a Saturday, be prepared to share with free water aerobics classes! It's fun to watch though :)

Always a great place to hang out on a hot day. Bbq facilities throughout the area which are always kept clean. Lagoon is always popular and well maintained also. Perfect place for families, couples and friends.

Cool pool; great Zumba class; lifeguards (aka the fun police) are a bit intense but they do their job well. We loved our family time here. Great day out for the kids. High levels of child supervision required.
