A hotel with a lot of character. Great location close to all the key conference venues and government departments. Conference venues in the hotel are acceptable but is slightly cramped for the Murdoch Room.

Always had a pretty good dining experience here. Had salmon, steak, soup, in room service, and has also been decent. A few beers on tap. Coffee is ok 7/10. Furniture and atmosphere are relay nice. Very well presented dining area. Rooms are very elegant and federation style with federation style mirrors, curtains, carpet, furniture. Would stay there again.

A very loud wedding reception was in progress on my arrival, making communication with the front desk difficult. Incorrect details were pulled up for me and struggled to find my booking. Once the initial hurdle was overcome, my room was very quiet, modern and well designed. Most facilities were available. Room service options past 10:30 p.m. are limited and over priced.
The queen bed was firm but fairly comfortable. No complimentary water, all at a cost.
Full Buffet breakfast was $28 and fairly average.
A good location for walking to galleries and Old parliament house etc.
Well maintained and clean. Staff are mostly helpful and friendly. I would stay here again, at a discounted price.response / report this review -

I definitely recommend this place for anyone who wishes to stay in Canberra, location is smack in the middle. Rooms and staff were great. Probably need more parking spaces and a little more variety with breakfast. Shower area needs to be a little bit big for disabled person to transfer to the shower bench.

Got married and stayed here for the weekend of. Staff massively accommodating, supplied with much assistance and even gifts. Every member of staff on hand ready to help at a moment's notice, right down to room cleaners and janitors who wouldn't have known who we were or why we were there. Parking is limited though, first come, first serve, and seemingly in high demand but we were here in peak times. Fantastic service.

A beautiful and comfortable hotel. Room was spotless and had everything we needed - bathroom was a standout. Heating great. Lovely staff. Only problem was lack of parking - the hotel parking was booked out so we had to move the car from a nearby street very early in the morning to a 2 hour park before checkout (also a bit of a walk from hotel). Other than that, would definitely visit again.

Exceptional place and service. Some rooms can only be bottom to via stairs. Beautiful building. Lovely service. Nice restaurant. Only real negative was I though the breakfast buffet was a little less than expected.

A smallish hotel which adds to the charm and personal service provided. I really enjoyed reading in the sunnt courtyard outside where they also serve good and drinks. The cleaning service for the room was slow and we were disappointed that it still hadn't been done by 2pm. Room was lovely and quiet with nice linen and updated bathroom.

Close to Parliament House and great in sitting days. Lunch and dinner menu is good but breakfast while improved from the reopening is well over priced.
Front of house staff are warm and welcoming. As a regular guest, key staff know me on a first name basis which is a sign of quality staff which I have not seen elsewhere in the Nations capital.

Beautiful room that comfortably fit 3 adults. Great restaurant with amazing food. Service at hotel and restaurant was also really good. Parking was a bit of a nightmare. The hotel was fully booked out and there weren't enough car spots for all the cars. I'd stay again just for the restaurant.
