Mixed experience. Nice people and service, but car was lower quality than expected (with a response of "you can bring it back and change" but no real acknowledgement that it was a poor quality car).

Rude and disrespectful. Booked my car. Day before was told one price and while picking up the car wouldn't tell me the exact price until I present him my credit card!
I questioned that and the man threw my licence and my credit card across the table swearing at me.
I was shocked!
Gold membership means nothing to these people.

Had booked online. Arrived to pick up car on time but the staff took ages to go through the booking, asked for the incorrect rental fee, took another age to correct that, and then told us to go to the garage and take the car. The car was not ready to drive away but blocked by several other rental cars in their carpark. Reception staff polite.

We hired a car for the weekend for visitors. The price was good for the weekend and we were offered a free GPS as an entertainment book bonus offer. BUT the car wasn't in the condition I would expect from a hertz - lots of damage including a large dint on the rear bumper. The fuel tank was only 3/4 full and the free GPS didn't work at all. Wouldn't charge in the car and when we finally got it switched on had large black spots obscuring map and the keyboard wouldn't work properly. I'd recommend using Avis instead.

Hertz usually keeps its promises and at times when they cannot, their amazing staff like Jacquie at Artarmon make up for it in whatever way they can help!
