Great place to have lunch, beautiful views, they were happy to adjust vegetarian dish to suit vegan.
Absolutely stunning place, great staff stunning view and great food.
Having read that it was family friendly, we decided to have lunch at the cellar door. We had to chase menus as none were offered, nor did anyone approach us to take an order which I eventually went to the counter to put in. It took the best part of an hour for any food to arrive and the children's order was missing. We enquired politely of a staff member if the missing food was on its way and it eventually arrived. Much to my astonishment the older woman behind the counter started shouting at me about how small the kitchen was and how everything comes from there in a quite irrational manner when I went to pay for the meal-presumably because we enquired about our child's food. I have never experienced anything like it and would definitely recommend avoiding Helens Hill.
Had a voucher from the entertainment book for Helen's Hill so I came with my wife for our wedding anniversary. We were really well looked after they even did something special on request during desert and bought out my anniversary gift with the desert under a closh. The food was of a high standard, the atmosphere was serene and the wine was great, I would definitely recommend this place.
We drove here specially on our way from Sydney to Melbourne to buy a certain bottle of wine and check out the vineyard. Their website and Facebook page advised me their cellar door was open 7 days a week until 5pm. We arrived at 3:30pm on a Wednesday and they were closed. We called the number listed on their site and a staff member advised us that their cellar door staff were at training in the city or sick and she could not sell us wine. She was quite apologetic but offered no solution besides that maybe a staff member would return in 1.5 hours. I then checked their Facebook page and they had posted that morning that they would be closed for the day. I don't want to tell anyone what to think about this, but it was my experience.
Our son loves to do the hunt at Helen's Hill. We also loved to have a bottle or two but during out last visit (today) we were changed a $5.00 (service charge)? We have no idea what this covers since I carried all the drinks we ordered from the bar to our table. We will think twice about going to Helen s Hill.
Horrible Hill Estate - Very Poor Management
After having my fathers 50th function at Helen's Hill Estate which was great experience to come back and have a second function we noticed the service to be horrible a whole 360 degree turn in service and management!
Firstly, 1/4 of people missed out on there food, people were not being serviced alcohol also cut off the drinks at 10pm and worst of all they cut the music 10:10pm telling us we need to go even though the contract advised 11pm that the function will finish The function was for 70 people which we optioned to the best they had to offer.
Also when we got there the manager had her own kids that were below the age of 13 setting up the tables and serving people alcohol.
Beautiful location but horrible service for functions, i will never be returning or recommending this place.
Food great at lunch Fri. 25/11/2016. Background music in the foreground. Requested it be turned down four times which was done temporarily but returned to over bearing after a short time. Wine not poured at table. We could have been drinking chateau cardboard for all we knew. Very disappointed
