Good airport but needs improvement in luggage administration to passengers. Last time went 2 years ago they were fixing the ferry warf and we got transported to the main marina which was good. This time had trouble hearing what was happening and wasnt sure the airport marina is functioning. We missed the ferry. Some helpful signage would have really helped! Also heads up there is no free water refill station at the airport. Given the humidity and hot environment this needs to be fixed. Also walking into town 1km is uphill and no pedestrian path, watchout for close driving buggies. Mainly if they can get 1 sign at the main roundabout area and a water refill station then this place would be amazing !!!

A efficient little airport. The shortest runway in Australia FUN!!
When you arrive you disembark the plane into the tarmac. Go straight to the front find the desk get your tags for your bags depending on where you are staying then wait for the trailer to come with your bags. Then wait inline for your bus to your accommodation.
It has everything that you may need before your take off. The toilets are clean and coffee is really good. Staff were very helpful in assisting me with getting on the plane as I use a walking stick. There is free wifi just ask at the food kiosk.response / report this review -

Very low tech, you have too get your luggage off the delivery trailers yourself. No baggage delivery system, but its OK, it makes it interesting.

It's a small airport. Decent size waiting area, 'hidden' area upstairs - go through frosted glass doors near food area, then go down a few stairs, turn right, then through more doors and up some stairs. It's a long time since I flew here with Ansett, but I think it's the old Golden Wing club area. Now it is just an open area with some couches, a tv, and some toilets. Better (quieter) than downstairs though.

Checking-in desk area is confined and has congestion issues around desks. No wifi in airport. Cafe tables not cleaned/rubbish everywhere.

Handy airport, clean, efficient and everyone is super friendly. Has everything one would need on this resort based island.

Smallest runway on the east coast which makes for awesome landings and take offs. Amenities are fine and the staff are all very helpful.
