Went there on a Saturday afternoon, the staff (one guy?) were friendly.

The weights area a mess, dumbbells and barbells all over the joint not put back in any order if at all. Shows a lack of gym care from staff and customers, not to mention no enforcement of towel rules etc. So atmosphere and ability to get mind set on task at hand wasn't right for serious training - you can't be wasting time looking around for a weight of dumbbell that has been dis-guarded who knows where.

Not to mention safety issues when putting heavy dumbells back when the floor in front of the rack is littered with weights.

Dumbells appeared to only go up to 50KG from what I could find.

Machines, lots of useless ones, needs more power cages and full cable fly machines, they are generally more versatile in a busy gym.

Cardio area, looked to be the best part of the gym.

Lockers, sticky floor but fine changing area and lockers with card locking.

A repurposed centre turned into a gym, with a whole amphitheatre-like cardio room, plenty of studios as well as exercise areas, although the facade on the outside does not represent the interiors, no natural light found. Some additional small, but unrelated stores within however.

I've read alot of bad reviews on this gym and I've been to gyms all over Australia n this ones not bad at all. The guy who signed me up got rid of some previous debt and got me signed up quickly. The staff always say hello n goodbye. So customer service is fine there. The equipment is fine too. I've seen way worse. Didn't seem dirty either. Was impressed how big it is too. Overall very happy with Fitness First in Parramatta and will keep going!!!!

Terrible customer service. I signed up for fitness passport and I was provided an ID card without locker access. Every time, I present my ID, the front desk staff would provide my locker key. Today, I was asked if I was interested in purchasing a locker card for $5. I thought I am paying a regular fee for the service that I contracted and so was not interested in the add-ons. Therefore, I told them that I don't want to purchase the card. It looked like the manager was not happy with that. When i finished my session, the front desk person said "The manager said that every time I get the locker card, they would charge me $5 and refund it after the session". I was baffled. Clearly, there was no choice in the matter. They are making up rules that would be regarded as an inconvenience to force people to purchase the card. The $5 spend is not a big deal. However, I am disappointed with this cheap strategy and spurious tactics. Why not be upfront and transparent about what you are selling to the customers? When the employees of my organisation signed up, we have kept our end of the deal. Why does fitness first keep changing their rules to milk more money from its patrons. I am very unhappy with this experience and will definitely spread the word to my colleagues.

If you need someone who will deliver you the results, if you need your body to be strong, healthy, beautiful, full of energy, just come and ask for Henry. Henry, you are great 👍 (and I am too weak and lazy)

    Overall terrible gym
Worst; customer service, membership are rude and leave weights everywhere, things get stolen, been to every local fitness first this has the oldest machines out of all with a new paint job inside.

Had a female friend as a guest she was turned off by the state of the place.

Head office should take over and start cancelling memberships of badly behaved members and upgrade the facilities.

Maybe then they might make more. But all they think about here is $$$ with quantity of memberships with low quality facillities

The 30 minute 'Freestyle' lunch time fitness classes are Parramatta's best kept secret. The instructors Anthony & Dom are very experienced and fully engaged. It's a group fitness class but as the numbers are quite small it's almost as good as a personal training session. It's easy to see the results when you can go up to a heavier kettle bell or do more repetitions each week and you go back to work feeling pretty good about how you spent your lunch break.
    Highly recommended

The staff are friendly at the front desk. Lots of good equipment. I'd rate it a low 3.
I like going to pump classes and I found the class on Wednesday at 6.30 Pm the worst pump instructor I have ever seen do a class. I have been doing pump for many years and been to many gyms and he does not engage everyone, he did the exact same routine both times I went to his class. He does not tell everyone the number of reps or sets that are being done for each track. He never said exactly what track was up next and didn't use any proper exercise terms just up and down.

I also noticed when there was new people and had very wrong technique he never gave any advice or help on how to do the technique properly and never enforced proper technique. I was hardly ever sore after his classes even if I hadn't been in a few weeks or increased weights.

I went to the Monday 6:30 pm class before I had to cancel my membership because I moved and the instructor was just as good as all other instructors I have seen, he was great!

Don't know why there is such a difference in training in instructors, while in the 2nd class the lady next to me was just as confused as I was at how under trained the instructor was (it was her free pass day to test out the gym).
