Had the opportunity to visit the course recently and whilst I didn't get to play, the course set out is something special. I think it is a Graham Marsh design. I did however over hear in the pro shop there was a risk the course may be closing. We must stop gems like this one becoming a thing of the past.
Really picturesque and wonderful service despite being busy with a wedding
Love it at the homestead. Meals are amazing and atmosphere is very relaxing and comfortable.
Great service, wonderful place and delicious food. We'll be back for sure.
After having recently moved to Eynesbury my daughter and I went to the Homestead restaurant; a meal we had been looking forward to since moving to the area.
I do wish I had read the review below regarding the quality of the food. The service was average; however, my meal was inedible. I ordered the crispy beef, although not an expensive meal, I would have expected more than a handful of mixed lettuce, fatty, chewy casserole steak and a dressing that seemed to consist of 90% sugar. It was so sweet I felt like I was eating a bowl of sugar. My daughter who loves sweet food could not eat it either saying it made her feel ill.
I noticed that when the staff collected dishes from the nearby tables, they asked how the meal was. When my almost full plate was collected, not surprisingly, no one asked how the meal was.
We had intended on having a family gathering there, but after this experience that is most definitely out of the question.
Even fast food is better that what's on offer here!
Went here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Staff were friendly and the food we ordered came out relatively quickly and was decent for the type of venue. Prices were also very reasonable and the venue is beautifully decorated, situated within well maintained parkland. Only downside is that it is out of the way, but definitely worth the drive if you're passing through the western suburbs of Melbourne.
Excellent golf course. Plus very relaxing place to have meals country views
As much as the Resaurant is at a nice quiet location at 7pm on a Saturday night.
What happened to us tonight was not acceptable from a restaurant anywhere.
It was Saturday the 3rd of September the day before Father's Day. My wife and daughter took me out for Father's Day .
We entered the restaurant were welcomed and shown to out seats all three of us. They only gave us 2 menus as that's all they had in the restaurant.
We ordered 1 Entree and 3 mains. The entree came out and t was nice. It was an entree share.
Then the mains came out.
As the mains were being put on our table the waiter slammed the mains on the table. Almost knocking my wine over.
My wife and I got steak and Lamb shanks .
My daughter got a pizza. After the food was slammed on the table the waiter left quickly.
My daughter took one piece of her pizza and under the pizza was a big black blow fly crawling half dead from under the pizza. We tried to get it to fly away but it could not.
After seeing this my daughter did not want to eat the pizza I went up to the counter called the waitress over and said please see this. She took it away. After she walked away my daughter said she did not want to eat here. I went to the counter and said please do not replace the pizza.
I went back to the table and finished the other 2 meals with my wife.
I really felt sick eating that food.
Still do.
At the end of the meal went to the counter to pay the bill and the girl said we are not going to charge you for the pizza. Still ended up paying $89.00 for the entree , 2 mains and a bottle of wine.
When I got home I called the restaurant asked to speak to the Manager on shift explained the situation and her response to me was I don't make enough money to handle complaints. I will get the GM to call you tommorrow. I gave them my number and hung up.
My advise is DO NOT GO TO THIS restaurant unless you want to get sick.
Really not a good experience at all.
Heritage building with friendly service staff. Kitchen serves comfort food, good selection of beers and wines. Daily specials are a delight. There's the massive snooker table that keeps the conversation going long after you meal overs few beers
Perfect day, scenery and bar. Would have rated the golf course 4 out of 5 had it not been for three inconsiderate golfers who hit golf balls so close behind us that we had 5 potential hospital injuries. One ball actually hit our electric cart and fell into one of the compartments!! It's the club's responsibility to keep everyone safe and ensure everyone respects the rules. Won't be coming back for a while
