Nice hostel with relaxed people, multiple shuttles to city and airport. Staff is helpful and hard-working! 2 kitchens and nice meeting area - good for solo or small group travellers

Good bang for your buck. Good vibe, reasonably clean. No BYOB, only licenced alcohol sales. You can cook yourself but breakfast is also offered as 2 dollar toast, 3 dollar cornflakes or 4 dollar both. Thea and coffee available for 0.5 dollar.

Good price, got aircon private room beside the pool. The music goes on pretty late and the walls are thin (Not the worst as it's a Backpackers hostel). Good atmosphere. The beds were alright but the backboard was far from the wall and the pillows were thin so it's awkward sitting up in the bed. It's about 20 mins walk to the town but they arrange hourly complimentary shuttle buses in

It looks very tropical here, there's a small pool table, a small bar, a pool. I booked a 6 bed room for 3 people and they were so nice, they gave us a 4 bed room instead. Sam is also great with the tourist stuff.

Located not too far from the airport but that doesn't matter because as part of your stay, you are able to use their free shuttle bus that they offer! Within walking distance to quite a few places.

The people who work there are so chill and friendly. It is essentially backpackers paradise. Just walking through the front door and you'll get the vibe I'm describing.

Highly recommended adventurers. You get what you pay for in terms of the facilities you get to use but the service from the staff and experience outweighs the cons.

Nice hostel, comfy with decent bar and very friendly staff, having to pay for basic breakfast and even more for tea/coffee is dissappinting considering much cheaper hostels in Carins have it for free. The free airport shuttle makes up for it though.

I highly recommend this hostel . I've been traveling a lot in Australia and i've never been welcomed like the Calypso. Great facilities and staff , the twin room was clean and quiet, the beds comfortable and is not so expensive !

Great friendly staff, clean, large rooms with comfy beds, bar and large pool, entertainment and competitions held 7 nights a week and a free hourly shuttle bus to town.

You can book travel, tours and accommodation and earn points towards drinks or accommodation at Calypso.

Hostel is good, room ok , I didn't like the the behaviour of one young worker that was there and also is not allowed consume alcohol bought outside the hostel. So if you want drink you must buy from they of course pay more

A few words about Calypso Inn: Great Location, amazing atmosphere, fantastic - always happy to help people. I love all the colors the Inn is painted with. The rooms are basic but believe me you don't need anything else. Just go and enjoy! :-)

Price is right. Not sure how it is during week nights but on Friday night it's a party atmosphere until late with the music turned up and going late. Not ideal for someone who is real tired trying to sleep. Other than that the staff was great, room was clean, power outlets with power strips are nice. I actually had reception in my room unlike most places. Has washers and dryers, kitchen, bar and other nice things. I would give it a higher rating if was being kept up by the party atmosphere.
