Location is good.
Beware of the showers. The water flow is adequate for a drinking fountain not a shower. Add to that, the temperature will arbitrarily cycle from scalding hot to warm on its own. Complained but no fix. Worse, no feedback or apology.
Avoid at all cost if you have children.
Nice spacious room with a great view. Has a coin operated laundry room and free parking. Walking distance to the city centre and pier for Great Barrier Reef cruises.
Great location on the esplanade. Healthy walk to peir, but plenty of good places close by esp. Elixer for drinks, food and music. Aquarium around the corner.
Good location. Reasonable breakfast (sometimes items run out). Slow internet.
For the price is it good. Basic but filling breakfast with enough options. Comfortable beds.
No wifi & noisy.
Hotel has spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Not a far walk to shops and cafes. But the Breakfast was a bit expensive and the wifi want working during our stay.
Really nice room with a balcony and a view of the inlet and esplanade. Our bedroom was separate from the lounge/kitchenette. On site parking and the do a nice breakfast there. Would definately stay here again
The good: our room was perfect. Nothing to complain about there. Good bathroom, nice beds, fast WiFi. The walls didn't let any sound in from our neighbours, who we found out were quite loud when we opened the door. The balcony was also great.
The not so good: the receptionist wasn't very friendly and kept to himself even when greeted. It didn't make us feel very welcome. For the price the hotel demands, it's quite far away from most of the restaurants, supermarkets, and the marina. And it's not like we booked an ocean view room.
Lastly, as much as I'd hate to complain about something that can't really be changed, this has to be said: the hotel is right next to a backpacker hostel which can be really loud at night. As nice as the balcony was, we weren't very comfortable as we had to listen to the constant noise and screams coming from below.
Overall I'd say this hotel is OK, but before coming back I'll be sure to check the competition first.
Definitely a hotel for families. I was traveling alone and had a room with one queen bed and 2 singles. Great views of the ocean and close to the Esplanade restaurants. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was only in Cairns so I could go to the Great Barrier Reef. Cairns is more for traveling families than the solo traveler.
Comfortable but showing some signs of age. Restaurant only open for breakfast but lots of eateries within a short walk.
The rooms were spacious but the small bed moved around just by sitting on it as it was on wheels. The hairdryer was not working. Did not get an opportunity to try other hotel facilities. It is 15 mins walk from the city center.
The location is great, just 10 min walk to the strip and lagoon. The room is also very spacious. However, minus points because the wifi is SUPER slow or just does not work at times.
Clean cheap comfortable close to everything
Great location. Helpful staff. Good price. Avoid the breakfast, there are better places to eat. Rooms were pretty clean and the bathrooms do their job.
