Never been here but what a great idea having it across the road from the local skate park.
Everything was perfect. I stayed in for 3 day's. Everybody. Nurse's, doctors all fantastic .
Only the older big lady who did the stress test for me was very polite.
I was suffering from very bad depression.
Anxiety, i couldnt breath. I though i was dying. 2 times i was taken by the ambulance.
All this happened to me because of the situation we were leaving. Terrible, terrible situation. In the hospital doctors arranged and this lady (sosial worker) came to me and i told her all the broblems that we were going through. After listening my broblems the lady said that she will see me later.
Later in the afternoon i was released from the hospital with more tablets for me. I went home and i locked my self in my room for days no eatting or dringing. My wife was telling me every day that i gave up. In about a week i got up. I started walking and exercises every day. I am fine now. I feel so good. I SURVIVED. But something is bothering me oi much..
I leave in Australia.
This lady sosial worker she new my serious broblems. She new we didnt have no food. No money. She new it was very close to put an end in my live. I was send home ok. She could report it? My case was serious.
They had my address. She should show more care and send somebody to check on me. But nobody came. May be they knew that i am going to make it at the end. I thing wile i was talking to her she wasnt paying attention.. i dont realy know if this lady is a good sosial worker somebody cares?
My girlfriend and I had fantastic care whilst we were there. Can't say enough about how friendly the staff were to us. My girlfriend didn't have travel insurance due to budget constraints but the doctor's and nurses and all the staff were genuinely looking out for our health and making it work with the small amount of money she had. One of the best hospital experiences I've ever had!
I have always been extremely happy with the treatment I have received from nursing staff and doctors at Cairns. My only issue is with a few clerical staff who do need to be trained in how to deal with patients. They should realise that patients also need to be treated with respect as well as sympathy, empathy and hopefully compassion. This hasn't always happened for my husband or for me. But as far as the medical staff go - I love you guys. Without your wonderful treatment my stays there could have been so much more difficult.
Great nursing staff
Cardiac ward
Very caring and try their very best to
Help you recover
There if you and when you need them
Ward staff nice compassionate too
Really helps when you've been so ill
Just like all things it takes time to
Get to a problem when there's so
Many others going on inside of you
Already
Great experience at Cairns Base Hospital for a fairly significant operation. All staff including the specialist to nurses, cleaners and food delivery service were helpful and kind. A lot of people tend to bag the hospital out but I have had nothing but pleasant experiences every time I have had to come here.
I have given the hospital 5 star because no matter how busy or what is going on the staff are always friendly and helpful and will keep your child in as long as they need to without rushing you out the door. Always willing to go above and beyond for your child. Thank you to the team for always looking after my children.
The doctors and staff at Cairns Base Hospital do a fantastic job, especially considering the financial constraints the hospital works under. I have had 2 operations and the treatment and care was fantastic, although I cant say the same about the food ( bring your own).
To all those who give negative reviews I suggest that you blame the state Government. The Qld hospital system is drastically short staffed and underfunded, yet our State premier gets paid more than the leaders of China, India and Russia combined, and only slightly less than the President of the USA. If we didn't have so many greedy crooked politicians maybe we could afford a decent public hospital system
The Ambulance staff were first on the scene and then my friend was transferred to Cairns Base Hospital. They were very good. Yesterday, the staff in the Emergency/ Resuscitation ward were exemplary, professional and compassionately caring towards my friend (who was dying), her husband and family and friends. The staff explained in simple form their actions and/or outcomes for all those present so our understanding of the dire situation was met. All Doctors. Specialists, Social Worker, Nursing and Admission Desk Staff should be praised for their handling of their jobs. They provided a private area for the friends and family, to console and talk about what was occurring. Never at anytime , did they rush or make anyone feel that the questions we had or were asking were trivial. Well done to all. Thank you to all concerned and involved. Too much negativity and not enough praise is given to those of you, who work in contact with people experiencing some of the worst moments in someone else's life. Thank you for your efforts.
