Despite the poor signage this pub is worth a visit with excellent pub food and friendly helpful staff. We particularly liked the beef cheeks with mash and sticky date pudding.,had while sitting next to an open fire.

Not sure what Richard was talking about! I have dined at the Braidwood Kitchen (located at the Braidwood Hotel) several times. The portions are extremely generous! This is classic Anglo-Celtic inspired pub tucker with modern bistro specials. The menu constantly varies, service is prompt and friendly.
The pub itself has a superbly atmospheric public bar, which provides an insight to a broad cross section of Braidwood's sometimes colourful locals.
The pub could do with more comfortable lounge space and undercover outdoor dining space. Whilst there's an impressive selection of spirits available including some good single malts, the wine selection is somewhat of a let down. On the occasions that I've dined with friends, we've left quite quickly as opposed to indulging ourselves with more fine wine due to it's lack of availability.response / report this review -
