Great place for delicious food, also suitable for vegetarians. We had four plates to share between the two of us and could hardly finish. Cocktails are highly recommended as well! Only critique is that they could use slightly less salt and oil in their cooking, but this is really nitpicking. 5 stars from us, and we will definitely be back.!

Deserves all the good reviews for service. Really attentive staff and helpful when it came to recommending what dishes and how many.
Atmosphere is great and the place was rammed for a Wednesday night at 18:30!! Dishes are the perfect size and were adjusted from 3 lamb shanks to 4 (as there were 4 of us) where it was needed. Lamb was the stand out dish! Large selection of beers, local and international.

One of the fancier places in Newtown but without the extreme price tag that so many high end places have! The staff and service has been wonderful every time I've been- while you may have to wait for a table if you are there during peak time and without a reservation (fair enough for such a busy place), once seated the service is so prompt! The food is absolutely delicious although the dishes slightly small. This place keeps me coming back time and time again for the amazing food and cosy atmosphere- great for date nights or special occasions!

Snobby staff, great food. Four of us arrived at 7:30 and asked for a table for 5, and they refused to seat us til the fifth person was there. She was running a bit late, as a result were seated at 9pm. I understand the need for a system like this- it prioritises making money over common sense and decent service. She could have been fit in late, especially as it’s a share plate situation. The smarmy attitude from staff was also unnecessary and lame. The food was great, but not good enough to make up for the nonsense we went through.

A favourite for a casual catch up with a friend. Love coming here to graze on their Fabulous charcuterie boards and share plates. Really friendly fun service.

The food here is delicious! Been twice and both times amazing. We had tuna dish, prawns, smokey eggplant and mushrooms, polenta chips, lamb dish and pancake. The tuna dish was one of the best things I have tasted in years. Only gripe the portion sizes are small. we ordered a lot of dishes between 4 adults and could have eaten more. Really lovely, tasty, interesting food. Wish it was closer to my home.

The service was great and extremely friendly, best we have experienced in a while. The portions were reasonable. Food was also of a high standard, the Gorgonzola sauce with the polenta chips would have been a standout had their been more Gorgonzola in the sauce for extra bite. Other than that the fried chicken was amazing, the pork belly on point. The beer selection was possibly the best I've seen for a while and didn't expect it from a hole in the wall type of establishment. Overall great experience and we will definitely be back!!

A hip Newtown local restaurant serving beautiful share plates and wine. Usually jam packed even on weeknights this is a great place to relax and have a casual meal. We had a their highly recommended beef brisket, polenta chips with blue cheese and a savoury chickpea pancake. Beautiful meals. Great service.

This is one of the more upmarket bars in Newtown similar to the likes of Hartsyard around the corner. Fancy gin and tonic offerings as well as grazing courses to share with friends. Awesome service and quality drinks. Open storefront exposes you to the nocturnal inhabitants of Newtown

We had a really lovely meal here for my birthday on the 11th but unfortunately the attitude of the guy running the seating put a bit of a dampener on the night.

The only problem with Bloodwood is it's distance from my house. Always interesting and delicious is a relaxed environment. Knowledgeable and friendly staff seal the deal.

Great spot. We always end up here late for a quick bite. The wine list is good as well.
