Opening hours are not accomodating for people who work 9 to 5. Would be good to use lap pool after hours like the other outdoor pools in canberra.

While they have spent a lot of money refurbishing the place in the last year, unless they train their staff better, I will not be returning. A child cut their foot on an uneven tile and when they asked the lifeguard where to go for first aid they got a blank look. Luckily a school group was there and a helpful teacher took her to the management office for treatment.

19th november we decided to go to big splash to enjoy our sunday. But sadly my husband met an accident with a boy while getting off the slide due to sheer negligence of the staff on duty at speed coaster. The lady did not bother to see whether the path of slide was clear or not and let another tube down the slide.. my husband was still on the tube while my daughter had just got off. The young boy on the other tube collided with my husband there was toooo much blood as the staff down reported on walkie talkie. I heard it as i was standing up near the slide to go for my turn.
My husband had to get four stitches, while the staff did not bother to inform me. My six year old went through extreme trauma by seeing so much blood and her father injured, while i was not there to console her as no one approached me and i kept waiting at the top for almost twenty mins.
And guess what they offered.. a refund!
The management refused to give us the incidence report. They refused to give a written apology. They threatened me to sue them, but for me handling my child’s traumatic situation and my husband’s recovery was utmost important therefore i did not go into legal matters.
I am writing now after almost two weeks from the incident. God knows what happened to the child, may God give him a speedy recovery too.
As far as big splash is concerned, karma will take its turn. They are ruthless people.
A big NO from our side to whoever thinks of going there.
And before ending that place is disgustingly dirty specially the kids pool.response / report this review -

This would be great fun, except for the fact they don't tell you they don't turn on the slides or open the cafe during the week! I can access a swimming pool a few other places. The inflatable thing advertised on the pool is on order from overseas and not there yet. The website needs to make lots of things a lot clearer.

Not that many things to do but this place is a nice place to go if you just want to have a small day out with family or friends.
