This was a decent place once upon a time. Now it’s old and tired. The menu has remained the same for a long time, the furniture is worn out and the staff have very little genuine interest in the customers. I never see the same waitress twice and they’re usually very Gen Y (uninterested and absent minded). They had no soy milk on my last visit which is unacceptable for a cafe these days. Time to spend some money on this place and stop peddling the same old rubbish.
When we sat down out the front we were greeted with a table top that literally spun around. If it's so wobbly that it can't be used why put it out and wait for us to decide to move. Food was passable but the waitperson was unenthusiastic and inattentive, didn't bring any water or bother to check on us before we left. At that location near so many places, there's no point coming here.
Tasty food. Good atmosphere. Pleasant staff.
AWARD 5 WOODEN SPOONS.
ABSENT CUSTOMERS TRUMP NEEDS OF PRESENT CUSTOMERS. Cocktails interesting and good, Fish passable small , expensive no accompaniments. Customer service - a classic example of the worst that Perth can offer. We were 3 professional men wanting to talk. We chose the back room because it was quiet. Ten minutes later the music began. 75 to 86 dB-making conversation difficult. Polite request to turn down noise met with response that music automatic and it would go off. It didn't. I approached manager, explained that I wear hearing aids and was having difficulty hearing. Told this was their ambience and the other customers liked it. But there were no other customers. Suggested manager turn off music and should other customers come then turn it back on. Blank refusal. I suggested that restaurants did better when they showed respect for customers needs and wishes. She did not hear me. Had tin ears and a totally uncompromising attitude. $ 126 for one small one course meal, a cocktail (3 people) and a headache. A classic example of how not to run a restaurant.
An good place for coffee and breakfast with some nice healthy & even vegan options. Less recommended for beer or cocktails, I wish they would improve on it and possibly provide beer on tap in the future as the place jas a good potential as a nightly stop.
Service is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and casual.
Went for breakfast with my wife and thought the menu was limited so just ordered a macchiato and a chai latte, my macchiato tasted terrible and my wife's chai was lukewarm so not a very pleasant way to start the day but thankfully there are plenty of other places close by that know how to do quality coffee.
Waited at an outside table for over 20 minutes before walking in to place an order. I thought this place provided table service.
Staff inside were too busy talking to each other to notice, care or apologise.
Additionally, music inside was too loud for a conversation. Traffic noise outside quite awful too.
Definitely not a good place for an afternoon business meeting.
Coffee was very good. Breakfast serving size was modest but tasty. Highly recommended.
Great coffees, ample bottle and tap beers, and decent wines on offer.
Small dining selection which is good quality but a tad limited, and smidge pricey, could do with 3 or 4 extra items on the menu.
Only reason why i gave 4 stars. But what they do, they do well. Seems to be the way some places are going these days and i think this is better for all, fresher food and hopefully more consistent in qlty.
Staff have been faultless when we've been there, and the chicken liver parfait is truly the best ive ever had anywhere-with a good red and crusty bread- magnificent. Hats off to the chef
Simply melts on the tongue, not grainy, worth a visit just for this, and i dont have any affiliation with The Local either.
Well done lads and ladettes, the queens could take a leaf out of their book, just horrible nowadays
Extensive and creative hipster menu with interesting items like a carrot and date latte. Beautiful courtyard garden out back, comfy booths inside and people watching out front. Love the fresh juices and ingredients.
