Excellent meal and service. Highly recommended for seafood and a good range of other dishes to chose from

Service so poor we took our business elsewhere. There were a large group of people having a look at the menu, eager and excited like ourselves to enjoy a fresh seafood dinner. Unable to get close to the menu we read from a menu off one of the many empty tables out front only to have it taken off us by a staff member telling us that there was a menu board out front we could read.

its really a shame that i walked in and tried asking if there is any place for three. A. Fifty ish man started with"no coffee" and looked really unhappy.excuse me I was just trying to ask and I could have a lovely night in your restaurant only if you can be polite and tell me "sorry you can not bring food or drinks from other places here"

Food was poor and very expensive. When we did mention this to a waiter he said he would speak to the manager, we observed that conversation the manager shrugged his sholders and nothing was said. We repeated this when we paid and the older lady rudely told me that i was the first to complain and still we did not get an apology or anything. And i was very surprised being in hospitality myself that not even one persone quality checked any of our meals. We will never return.

Dined here twice in one week and had two very different experiences. To preface: the food is really good so not fault there. The first time it was a quiet period, we were seated straight away and food came promptly. The second time was a peak period. We were pretty much ignored for the bigger groups. It took almost 30mins for service to realise we have finished our entree which meant main was really delayed. Again good food and worth a try but come during the quite period.

We dine at Barnacle Bills every time we travel to Cairns. About once a month on average, sometimes 2-3 times a month. We have never had anything but beautiful food and wonderful service. Thank you to the management and staff for our very enjoyable experiences. And we hope sincerely to continue this very happy relationship for many years to come.

Recommended by our hotel, the Barramundi Caesar's salad was excellent. It comes off a little beach town touristy but the staff was attentive, the open air covered dining was pleasant, and the food was excellent.

They forgot about my entree order which delayed my main order so after 40 minutes I finally got my main. I asked if I could get a beer on the house because I had to wait and it was eating into my sleeping time as I had to work night shift. The waitress was amazing and nice. The boss is a bit of a grump and didn't like the idea of giving me a complimentary beer - I had to ask though because it did inconvenience me. He just silently poured it and didn't apologise or anything. At least I got something back for my time but the boss could have done it with a smile. His staff are his assets that is for sure. The food was good just soured by the experience.
