It is a great place to go for a relaxing day in the bush, a the horses are so friendly and are treated well.All the workers are kind and friendly to the riders and the horses, so far I have had Sarah and Kate and they were very nice to me. 😊😊

An awful place. Didn't want to ride as horses standing in mud and caked in it. They were very thin and smelled strongly of urine. The riding helmets were wet and smelly. One horse was so old it could hardly walk and another had one eye, they were all in bad condition. We asked for a refund and the owner said yes send an email. Ofcourse there is no available email address. We sent mail and rang several times but were ignored.

Great place for young kids. My daughter (4yrs old) and I go on trail rides there all the time. I bought a card of 10 rides and every time we have watched the instructional video on how to mount your horse and what to do while out on the trails. We have had Sarah and Kate as our guides and my daughter absolutely loves them! Some days its busy and the previous trail riders aren't back on time but that just gives my daughter more time to brush down a horse or pat a kangaroo wandering the property. After reading previous reviews about the horses stables i will tell you now that all the horses are worked on daily and have the necessary exercise they require. They even take the horses on 'holidays' every so often where they just get to roam on many acres and laze around all day. if your looking for a relaxed laid back atmosphere with horses who know the trails then Avonlea is the place to go. But if you are looking for something more posh and snooty then go somewhere else. We absolutely love it at Avonlea. They have been nothing but amazing. My friend comes with us and her son is Autistic and Sarah has been fantastic with him. Couldn't ask for anyone better. Thanks Bec, Sarah and Kate for all the hard work you put in. We really appreciate it.

Not a very good place to go at all. Owner is VERY rude and stern. Horses aren't treated well and when you get an injury from riding correct actions aren't taken into place. Would not recommend going there unless you are happy putting up with a rude owner.

We had an a great day yesterday on a trail ridefirst time at Avonlea Farm Riding..it was fantastic, very tame, lovely horsesmy friend who was afraid of horses before ( not anymore), loved it.Our instructor Kate was awesome, very patient and friendlyI highly recommend horse riding.great for kids get close, learn about horses, enjoy the outdoors and challenge yourself ! :-)

Had a groupon for 2 here. After reading all the horrible reviews had super low expectations, but our ride turned out to be just fine. Very friendly and helpful staff, explained everything to the first-timers. The ride was pretty tame - would have liked more freedom (we were all in a tight line following the guide walking in front. Plenty of time to take in the views and get the horse fed :) the trail was pretty awesome. Overall, a really positive experience. Won't be coming back though just because I prefer more adventurous activities - too tame for me :)

As someone who grew up with horses, I was extremely happy to see such happy and healthy horses at Avonlea. Having not ridden for a few years I was a little nervous but quickly gained my confidence on Dyson and had great ride. I have been madly trying to book in more rides since and am really looking forward to making riding a regular part of my life again. Thanks Dyson for helping me get back in touch with my love of riding!

My mum bought us tickets to go through scoopon and I sprained my ankle days prior and couldn't ride. My mum tried to reschedule and in turn, buy more tickets to ride and the owner was quite rude and very stern telling us that because we didn't call up and cancel 24 hours prior there's nothing we could do. No use of the words "sorry" or "unfortunately" just straight up, "no"

The property was filled with animals, 4 dogs 3 cats, kangaroos (in a cage) and chickens, rabbits. The rabbits were maybe 10 to a 2m square pen that hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The chickens hutch looked much the same in cleanliness. One of the cats needed a trip to the vet from wounds to its head. The other two cats and the dogs looks the best taken care of.

The horses had small pens and no grass or pasture available to them. They nawed on the fence posts didn't look like they received much actual love from humans, just taken out for rides day in day out.

There's a private property on the premises which looks healthy (plant life and live-in animals) but cross the fence it's sand and dry grass for the horses.

On the website its all about "living the dream" and that the owner wanted to live surrounded by horses and all that, but she really needs to turn off the attitude and look after her animals and customers.

I wish I'd read the reviews prior to my mum buying the tickets.

My 4 year old son was on his second lesson and the instructor (wonder about any qualifications?) was not really focused on a young inexperienced rider and allowed him to trot without her holding any lead rope. The other horses in the lesson trotted as well and as one was a large horse and my son was on a pony, the large horse had a longer stride. The result Is the pony wants to keep up so she canters. The result is my 4 year old is thrown from the horse.

That is bad enough but when one looks at the star pickets at the side of the arena I am thankful my son was not impaled on one of these.

The advice would be if you want to take young children for an enjoyable and safe experience on a horse go elsewhere. I shall write off the rest of my prepaid lessons as my sons life is worth more.
