I have had a few massages before and know the general sort of procedure. However, this one slightly missed the mark for me. I felt as though the massage therapist may have been very new to the job. The technique used seemed quite basic in comparison to other massages and she seemed a bit awkward and not confident which in turn made me feel pretty awkward too. Additionally, she had to leave the room multiple times to get specific towels and things leaving the door open and me lying there. Every 5 seconds she would have to adjust her glasses on her face which was quite disruptive to the serenity I had hoped for. Upon looking at other reviews I think I may have just gotten unlucky as others have seemed to have loved this place. By the same token, it was nice nonetheless to get a massage and de-stress.

As someone who has had many, many massages over the years, this would have to be one of the best massages I've ever had! The setting is tranquil, the staff are lovely and I felt like I was floating when I walked out after a 90 minute relaxation massage.

I seldom leave public reviews but Alora’s exceptional ambiance, amazing customer service and highly skilled and dedicated therapists warrant it in this case. I’m fortunate that Alora is my local spa offering a full range of relaxation and therapeutic massage and beauty therapy services. But to leave the description there under sells it immeasurably. The first time I visited Alora I was blown away by the amazing cinema with calming orchestral music and full sized recliners where I was invited to wait with whatever type of tea or coffee I fancied.
I have never before seen such a beautifully presented establishment where attention to detail has been so exacting and the customer service so exemplary and welcoming. Of particular note is the ever vivacious professional and accommodating Maria on the front desk but, far more than a receptionist, she like a hostess throughout your relaxing and rejuvenating experience. I’ve used a number of Alora’s Masseuses and they have all been excellent but, for me, without question, Mari is a highly skilled and intuitive healer. Her therapeutic massage is second to none and I have no hesitation in recommending family and friends to see her. Alora is a five star city spa experience in suburban Hawthorn and I recommend it highly & without hesitation.

I visited Alora for a sports massage and was thoroughly impressed. The interior is incredible with a wonderful waiting room with a cinema screen and reclining chairs. I had the sports massage from Andrew who was great. He asked questions about my areas of pain and then adjusted the treatment accordingly. I left feeling better and he helped with an injury that had been persisting for months, I was also given some stretches to help with the issues, which is always helpful. Maria, the owner is incredibly friendly and accommodating and I'll definitely be visiting again!
