Great hotel breakfast hall very small but breakfast itself great value great position to be at
Very nice hotel, even if a bit worn around the edges. Big rooms (for Europe) very clean bathrooms, great location. Recommended. Shortcomings : poor wifi, marginal breakfast, two person elevator (which makes for long waits if you don't take the stairs). Front desk staff mostly okay, but can be hostile, which is unpleasant.
Great room with twin beds, AC, TV and wifi. Nice bathroom with a big bathtub. Friendly staff. Very quiet and peaceful. Near from city center.
Lovely hotel in central Vienna.
Good quality-price relation. Kind staff. Very clean. Good quality of products for breakfast.
To improve: the internet connection, the space for the breakast and the variety of products for breakfast.
Hotel lovely decor and clean. Well kept. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely bathroom with separate toilet. Mirrored ceiling above bath! Good location for getting about. Near to underground railway. Small intimate breakfast room but quaint and lovely. Recommend it..
Great!
So the good things, location is nice an quiet and the room looks really nice, with nice decor and lots of space. We have a small TV, mini fridge, tea maker, bath/shower, toilet in separate room and a comfy bed. However there are quite a few bad things: WiFi is terrible I had lots of issues trying to watch YouTube videos, there are no power sockets next to the beds for charging, air-conditioning is loud, the keys have a huge key ring with the door number meaning I have to return the key when I go out (scary thing was when I went to get the key back the guy didn't ask for any ID just my name and gave it to me)! Breakfast was nice but I was expecting it to be an Austrian styled breakfast. It was just a general breakfast. There was a little bit of blood on the bed sheet!
Historic but a bit dated.
We stayed at Hotel Savoy in January 2008 and we had a good time. Our room was big, with two single beds put together. We had no view since we requested a room in the back. The front rooms face the street (Lindengasse), but there is a construction site across the street. We had no problems with noise in our room. In fact we remarked that the room is well-insulated, we didn't hear our neighbors at all.
The hotel is in a very good location for sightseeing, you can walk to the Ring, or take a subway from the Neubaugasse station on the U3 line. The station is about 300m from hotel, but it has an exit via an underground mall that takes you right across the hotel (follow signs to Stiftgasse exit from the subway stop).
Other amenities in the room: TV (small), mini-bar, telephone (35 eurocents for a short call), bath with tub/shower combination, hair dryer, free wireless internet connection.
The staff speaks excellent English and was very helpful.
Warning for elderly/disabled people: getting to the reception required climbing a flight of stairs (elevator after that to all 6 floors). Most doors in the hotel are heavy and require a bit of muscle to open.
We plan to stay here again when we come back.
