A wonderful all inclusive hotel. It's the people who work here that make it a lovely place to come and enjoy. Bobby takes you on a nature walk around the hotel grounds it's a really interesting tour, and the ladies get a bouquet of flowers picked by Bobby from the flowers and plants that grow here .The snorkelling trips are amazing and I would highly recommend those trips. There's an array of trips from the hotel to do . I must mention the food and restaurants in the hotel absolutely superb all of them. But it's the wonderful people who work here everyone one of them so friendly. We will definitely come back

First time at a 5-star all-inclusive resort. Definitely for adults only. There were plenty of activities to do for free that kept us entertained, and plenty more of you’re willing to pay. The pictures are expensive, but they were worth it. Just note that the resort is not representative of the island and living there. I wish I had cash to explore a bit more. In any case, there are plenty of restaurants and alcohol to enjoy, and the people are nice. The service is top-notch; it’s convenient that you don’t have to tip, but a shame that they won’t let you tip. My regret is that I was only there for 3 nights. Definitely worth a week.

Sandals Grande Antigua did not disappoint! We loved every moment. The resort and staff were phenomenal. The people of Antigua welcomed us with open arms. They made us feel at home. Thank you for inviting us to your home. This is our 4th Sandals vacation and the best so far.

One of the most beautiful places I've ever been. The views are more than amazing. Me and my family went for a cousins trip and for the most part we enjoyed ourselves. Some of the rooms could use an update. Everything was all inclusive. I definitely do not recommend this place for single people. Definitely wonderful for couples. The entertainment each night was pretty fun, the food was okay. There were times that they were out if breakfast food at some of the restaurants and the staff seemed to be inconvenienced when we asked for more. The Butlers were a little bit of a disappointment. The ones we had forgot to set up my aunts room for her surprise birthday party, they let food/dirty dishes sit outside the door for hours. At times it did seem as if some of the staff did appreciate our presence (13 black American women) I was sitting on the beach just for security to tell me that I needed to move because the seats were for resort guest only and after I advised her I was a guest, she asked me my room number and proceeded to follow me until another security guard who knew I was a guest said something. The bartenders were awesome and The Drunken Duck was my favorite place there. The man who paints in the lobby is so talented. The tours were awesome. I'd definitely recommend this place again but I would definitely go with someone special not for a girls trip.

The resort is beautiful. The beach and pool areas are great and well staffed and security is watching the beach area. Never had a bad meal. The restaurants and food are really good. The staff everywhere are amazing and hospitable. The Rondoval cabins are well located but old and outdated. But the butler service is great. We will go back!

Best vacation I have ever had! If you have any hesitations, just do it. You won't regret it. Food is consistently good, not too crowded at all, lots of options for sun or shade, amazing water for swimming or included water sports, attentive staff. Will be back soon.

We are loving our honeymoon here at Sandals Antigua! It is the perfect romantic vacation spot! The food is delicious, the staff is so warm and friendly. It's a large property but easy to walk around. It feels so private and special. My only hiccup would be that you have to wake up at 6am if you want to get an umbrella on the beach, otherwise the butlers reserve them all for guests ( that sometimes don't even show up). But other than that, one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at!

We are only halfway through our stay and we were are already hating the thought of having to leave! We have had the best time so far and the people here are wonderful! The food is wonderful everyone that works here is bending over backwards to help you and they are the most pleasant people.
This is our first all-inclusive resort and when have the chance to come back I would do it in a minute

LOVED our stay here. Our view from the Mediterranean Village was spectacular. The resort is just big enough that everyone has their own space but small enough that you can easily get from one side to the other. The staff were incredibly polite and over-the-top friendly, ensuring we were 100% satisfied. Food was overall delicious, and room service was incredibly efficient. (We pre-ordered breakfast every night.) We never had a problem finding poolside lounge chairs and ordered a cabana for the final day as a break from the sun. We had a great time SCUBA diving; if you’re certified make sure to bring your log book with proof of a dive in the last year.

Beautiful grounds. Very helpful and attentive staff. Many food choices/restaurants. Mediterranean side has nice rooms, and lovely big bathroom in honeymoon suite club level room. Liked the 3rd floor balcony with view of the grounds and water, though it was small. To save a hut on the beach you should get there by 6 at the latest and leave towels, a book or shirt to hold them. The large pool music tends to be loud at times. They have very good entertainment daily/ nightly. My husband and I were impressed with Sandals and would return.

Great location on a lovely beach. We have a villa with private pool. Luxury indeed. Food quality in the evenings is not 5 star. Butler service is not worth the extra money. Overal experience, did not live up to expectations !!!

Love this place. We have stayed in resorts all over the world. This ranks with the best. The Sandals staff is uniformly excellent and very well trained. The food is good. While it may not rank with the best restaurants in the world it is varied and quite enjoyable. All beaches in Antigua and Barbuda are public so if one truly wants privacy there are 365 beaches on the islands to choose from. Unlike Mexico and Jamaica, Antigua is quite safe and peaceful. Perfect place to escape the harsh winters and political strife up north.

I'm just now reviewing. We came here in June 2017. We had a great time here. The staff was wonderful. The resort is beautiful. The room was nice and we had a great view from our balcony. Food was delicious. Something going on every night. The 360 tour is a great tour to go on as well as the D Boat. We got to tour the island with one of the locals and saw some amazing locations. We also toured the museums on the island. We would definitely recommend Antigua.

This property is situated on one of Antigua's most popular beaches, Dickensons bay. Part of the sandals chain of hotels and one of the larger and modern in the chain of properties.

I see lots of couples getting married on the Beach or in the garden or taking the "Sunset shot" with the hotel photographer. Couples only and all inclusive are their selling points.

There are lots of water sporting and other activities available. The spacious conference center hosts many varied events as well.

Apart from the lovely and inviting beach I enjoy the gardens also.

I am just getting around to reviewing this place, but I hope that the charm and hospitality remain from 2010! My wife and I took our honeymoon here in October that year. We had a tropical storm hit us 4 of the 7 days there, but it did not dampen the spirits of anyone there. In fact, it probably made everyone more spirited in the evenings lol.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and joined along in having a good time with all of the guests.
Plenty of food choices for each day, though the food itself was only 3 stars. You must consider where you are though.
The only downside was locals coming on the beach trying to sell you stuff at every turn while you relax. It got annoying.
Overall, a fun time to be had by all.

This place is amazing. The food is awesome, the drinks are awesome, the resort is clean, and the service is outstanding.

The only issue I have is day passes must be purchased in advance, which we did not know, so when we tried to do a day trip while on a cruise (as a memory to our honeymoon there), we were turned away at the gate.

This is the four resort I've been to in the Caribbean and by far the best. Came here on my honeymoon and everything has been perfect. Went snorkelling, did a 360 degree catamaran tour of the island. The food here is amazing as well and the staff are all helpful - they go the extra step to make sure you get what you need.

Antigua is a true island gem tucked away in the Caribbean West Indies. If you love the beach, they have public access to all 365 beaches on the island - that's one beach for every day of the year! We stayed at the Sandals Grande Antigua- a gorgeous, all-inclusive resort where you can eat and drink to your hearts content. They even have a swim up bar in the pool. We loved our stay and highly recommend it!

I want to share my experience with all of you in hopes that I can spare anyone else from the trouble we have had with the Sandals Resorts.

Dan and I have been trying to plan our wedding at the Sandals Resort in Antigua for the past few months. It has been a complete struggle to get anyone on the phone to answer questions and we have been stood up for multiple phone meetings. We chose to work through the struggle in order to avoid the hassle of changing resorts, flights, ceremony details etc..

Today, I received an email, instead of a phone call, asking me to call Sandals regarding some changes to our wedding (which is less than three months away). Upon calling Sandals, I was told that the resort will be closing for maintenance work until December. After taking some time to digest the fact that Sandals has just told me that our wedding can no longer be held there, I called them back. I was then told that the only sort of compensation they are offering for this humongous inconvenience is that they will "transfer our booking to any other sandals resort at no additional cost, and give us one night for free."

I am in complete shock at Sandals lack of compassion and accountability and their unwillingness to help. Considering the fact that this was 100% their doing and they are CANCELLING OUR WEDDING, not just a nice vacation we had planned, I would have expected them to bend over backwards to help us (they've had to know for at least a year that they were planning to shut the hotel down for months, this sort of thing doesn't just happen overnight).

Needless to say, we have cancelled our reservations with Sandals and are now having to start this wedding planning process all over again just 77 days before our wedding. This is, by far, the most disappointing travel experience of my life. Please, please, please spare yourself the hassle and trouble and do not stay with any of the Sandals Resorts

Extremely relaxing, wonderful food and service. The public beaches are the only negative due to (non-Sandals) sales people pushing jet ski rides and other tours, but the positives out weigh this small drawback. The resort does offer free paddle board, kayak, and hobby cat rentals, which are a blast to use!

My husband and I had our Vacation, Wedding-Moon here from September, 2nd thru September 9th, 2016.

We loved it and we credit to all the staff that we had great experiences with. We appreciate all of there hard work and kind assistance. The place was immaculately beautiful!!!

The only couple of bad experiences that we had encountered was:

1.) Our day of arrival we were dropped off at the Caribbean Beachfront Village Main Lobby. We were welcomed by one of the front desk team with wine and a cold towelet and all was good. I had our Sandals Travel Voucher booklet in hand and asked if they needed it because we weren't checked in yet, and had waited for them to take us. They had said no worries, they got it. When they took us to our room; immediately, I said this is not the room we had payed for. Luckily I had in my hand my voucher book and my Sandals Grande Antigua e-confirmation check-in itinerary papers.

They had booked us a room while we were waiting in the lobby, and put us into the Oleander Building which was two level with no view only tree covered view on the second level room #518. We went back to the lobby and showed them our confirmation of our booking itinerary. The front desk gal asked Mr. G the manager for help.

Mr G. kept my itinerary and corrected the in-correct booking to match our itinerary confirmation request. The room should have been the cottage bungalows (Caribbean Honeymoon Premium) in the first place. While waiting; they informed us to eat at the Courtyard Bistro for hamburgers for free. 1/2 hour later we were finally booked into the Caribbean Honeymoon Premium bungalow #401(which we loved).

Mr. G had commented to me after the correction he had done, that we were given an upgrade of the room. I was upset by the comment but didn't care to respond to that comment he made.

Clearly it wasn't an upgrade, since we had confirmation for the Caribbean Honeymoon Premium that we had chosen to pay for. The room #518 was clearly not an upgrade. I did not understand what he was talking about. There was no apology nor there was no ownership acceptance to the errors made.

Needless to say---my husband literally had bumped into him later and he didn't acknowledged us or even say hi. He would ignore and avoid us through out our time there.

2.) The OK Corral Restaurant---we had waited to place our name and become acknowledged for help. Terrible, the guy didn't placed us on the waiting list, we were passed by so many people until we realized that it was ridiculously to long of a wait (1 hour). All an all food and service was great!

We definitely did love the company of Steve or Steven, one of the other supervisor/manager. He was very nice and attentive to us. He offered any assistance if needed and had congratulated us on our wedding day.

I wished that l could remember all the names of those that helped us and gave us a wonderful experience of a lifetime.

    Thank you so much to:

Grounds and resort are beautiful. Food sub par, people that are not used to having a wife that knows how to cook might call it ok, a lot of mosquitos. Entertainment was sub par. If they decide to have groups of people, they close off parts of the resort and restaurants to people who pay for the use of the property.
Most of the staff are friendly and nice. Tried four different times to
talk to Mr. G who is the manager who for some reason did not want to,
or was not given the message that I wanted to speak to him regarding
some of my concerns. Leslie, who is his go between told me that
my concerns would be addressed by the end of my second day and
that never happened. Called to talk to him and was diverted. Never
happened at any other Sandals resort that I have been to.
As of this writing, I have 178 paid nights at Sandals. I would assume
I am a good and loyal customer and deserve better treatment than
this. I am sure Butch Stewart didn't start out treating people like this.

The grounds on the resort were immaculately maintained, the food was good, and the service was acceptable (understand that all the locals operate on "Island Time"). The room was a disappointment, though. Given the price, I expected nicer accommodations. The room was clean, but I would describe it as tired. Towels were very stiff and scratchy. I've had softer towels at second rate motels here in the U.S. The room had mosquitoes, and although management said they would spray the room every night, I still woke up every morning with new mosquito bites. I've stayed at other all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean with nicer rooms for half the price. I think guests are paying for the Sandals name, and would recommend that you look elsewhere for a stay in the Caribbean.
