I love that they immediately switched me to another room after I realized that both the AC and internet were not working. They even gave me my own wireless device from which I had dedicated internet access for the remainder of my stay.

The food was good and the chef tried very hard to ensure that there was variety at every meal. They never prepared the same dishes for the entire week that I spent there. Excellent breakfast everyday. Oh and the bartenders truly aimed to please. I would stay again.

The staff are very friendly and kind and each time I stay here, it's great to see their familiar faces. There is free WiFi but it's not strong throughout the hotel. The food is usually well prepared and the rooms are clean

Very beautiful beach. There are a lot of peddlers, but you just have to kindly tell them no thanks. There is a nice restaurant close by on the beach which the food is good. It is priced in US which surprised me. If you go to the beach on the far right there are a lot of rocks about a foot wide in the water and covering the beach land. Very nice place to be would recommend to anyone.

A nice resort with friendly, attentive staff. The bedrooms are very tired and in need of refurbishment, but other areas are better maintained, in general.
The all-inclusive option allows you to keep eating and drinking on and off throughout the day. The food is good. A staff member will cook omelettes to order while you wait, at breakfast time. Lunches are served close to the beach and pool, and the local grackles are very entertaining.
There is entertainment organised. There was a lovely steel drum band, and on another occasion karaoke.
The hotel benefits from facing west. Whilst that can mean sunbathers have to move as the day progresses, it makes for spectacular and romantic sunsets over the sea and Warri Pier.

Thus place is really tired looking and is in desperate need of some updating / renewing fixtures/ fittings and definatly their bedding. It is set on a lovely beach. Some of the staff are in need of some customer service especially couple on reception, they have no time for customers !!! They also couldn't / wouldn't find anywhere for us to have a shower on our last day !!! All inclusive food could do with some changes as you had the same food everyday at lunchtime and it was the same in the restaurant every week so if you were there for a fortnight you had to endure the same food.

Great beach. Friendly staff. Good all you can drink options. Food is alright, breakfast is nice. Dated rooms, particularly the bathroom.

The hotel was ok, but it almost seems as if they don't take pride in their work. For example, I think we got a room that has been recently renovated but the caulking around the toilet was a mess and didn't look very nice. When they repainted the walkway, they painted a curtain hook onto the walkway. The shower also leaked on to the bathroom floor. This would be an awesome hotel if they would take the time to fix up the "little" things that make the difference from good to much better. The staff is amazing, friendly, funny. They accommodated our every request quickly and pleasantly. One other thing that would make it fantastic is if they cleaned up the beach! Everyday I picked up a handful of glass :-( The rocks at the beginning of the beach make it difficult to walk in and out of the water. At one point one end of the beach also smelled like sewage.

Great location and unbelievable views. The beach was beautiful and there were many well priced excursions you could go on right from there. The food was great and lots of options. I don't usually eat fish, but their fish was very good. The sour part was that a small portion of the staff seemed to enjoy being rude/brash. (Some went above and beyond to make our stay great, thanks Dave!) A staff member M----- was unpleasant with some members of our group at different times, and appeared to physically intimidate my older uncle in front of his friends. Quite unfortunate to tarnish a lovely trip, will not go back.

Nice resort right on the beach a big plus. Meals were good. Daily activities and good entertainment. The bar catered to all our needs a very big plus. The only downfall although with got good rooms our friends was not please with theirs. The rooms location and the surroundings was not ideal.

Dirty room, broken door, broken window, saw a half dozen cockroaches, beds were hard as a rock, beach was filthy!

The pictures look nothing like it online. We stayed there one night because our flight got delayed till 350pm the next day. We maybe got 3 hours sleep due to the bed and left at 6 am to sit at the airport just to get away.

Worst accommodations my wife and I have ever stayed at! Still have nightmares

I think the hotel got lots of potential once they get everything working. The staff are mostly pleasant and work with what they have. I would still recommend a stay with them. The food and bar are pretty good.

Halcyon Cove is one of Antigua's more well established Hotels situated on the famous Dickenson Bay. The much photographed and scenic Wari Pier Restaurant is within close proximity.

The many advantages of a beach front hotel should definitely be explored. Please remember to try the moonlight or might time dip. The hotel facilities are well kept and the surroundings well maintained.

The hotel rooms are spacious, comfortable and well appointed, you know the usual for a 4 to 4.5 star hotel. Day and night time activities are available as part of the hotel offering or from private operators.

Lovely resort with a smashing beach. Rooms are clean and comfortable with all the necessary amenities you could hope for. Food is plentiful and of good quality too. Internet connection is provided but rather slow and local TV is somewhat limited.

To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, "Mr. Rex. Tear this resort down".

Food and resort grounds were ok. Our accommodation, apparently one of their best rooms, was substandard. Barely functioning AC, yellow tap water, non-draining tub and dirty sheets were just some of the highlights. Pretty good beach but with a view spoiled by a rundown looking large restaurant at the end of a pier. Anything beyond a simple service request had to be forced by us to upper management to get anything done. Supposedly the resort had been abandoned for a period of time before being reopened. Not surprising. Whole place needs an overhaul. The Sandals next door only made the shortcomings of halcyon cove more noticeable.

    Awful place
I stayed at halcyon cove rex resort for 2 nights with my disabled mum. Staff/ service was shocking, they did not have facilities to cater for disabled guest. Staff said my mum was their first disabled guest which was difficult to believe. We spent most of our time in the room as their were no one to assist my mum in /out of her wheelchair. I have visited Antigua many times and have always enjoyed my stay. This was my first visit with a disabled relative, it was an eye opener and a shocking experience.

One of the best beach of Antigua. Decent structure. Could be improved a little. Food and drinks to be definitely improved. Extremely quite peaceful. Flat sea. Beautiful colors. Plenty of sea activities. Canoeing. Jet sky. Paddle board. Excursions. No mosquitoes. Quite, clean and safe beach. No external can access. By the end of the bay with a big rock that makes the panorama really impressive. Sea visibility is low due to sandy ground. But nice green color. Good wifi overall. Room nice big and clean. Bathroom could be improved. Nice large bed. Aircon perfect. Small fridge. Balcony. Staff is quite nice and polite. Again the only minus is the food. Not much variety and quality ok. But considering the price point is just perfect. Considering that 50 meters away there is sandals that cost 3 times more.. Car rental from 50 usd per day available in the resort with free parking. You can have a Toyota Yaris automatic. Gas is 1.2 usd per litre. Another minus the birds that love eating from you plate at lunch if you leave it abandoned for few seconds. Animation is absent for me just perfect. Evening music and karaoke.. Nobody sing. There is a nice restaurant dock facility but only used for dinner on Monday and Tuesday (mid July.. Not sure the rest). Could be nice to have dinner there. Breakfast was just ok. Little fruits. Filtered coffee. Sausages and bacon. Omelette.. Pasties.. Nothing exciting. I am Italian and I have been almost 2 weeks without a decent breakfast. Forget espresso or cappuccino. This is English breakfast everyday. Visitors were mostly British. Few Americans. No other European annoying. Pool was ok. Never used. Not so clean. Féwer vendors in the beach but very polite and 0 bothering. So. This was by far the best 14 days of holiday I did so far. Good price deal (airport is 8km away, 15 minuts, 17 USD (not 20). Roads are ok. British driving. Dont be afraid. If you are looking for a budget holiday in one of the best island of Caribbean. And the food is not an absolute priority. Halcyon cove is DEFINITELY your place. I would spend 1 or 2 months easily here. Time zone same as new York. If you are looking for èxtras.. Prépare yourself to spend 4 or 5 times more. But in my opinion not necessary. Well done guys at halcyon you made my time really nice. Just try to improve the food and have some staff not playing with the birds. Sunset every day by 615pm. Rain 5 to 10 mins some days. Max 20 min. Dont worry. Weather is perfect. 27 degree. Little umidity at night. Clouds travel fast. Make nice colors of the sky. I ll post videos from my drone and more pictures on my blog. Coming soon.

Stayed here recently with some family and friends. While the staff was really friendly (for the most part) they also weren't very accommodating to requests made. My family was placed in a more dilapidated , secluded, mosquito infested area of the hotel which was completely disappointing. Any and all requests for a new room proved futile (even though other hotel guests were moved immediately after requesting) the rooms definitely need revamping. There were stains on the bed spreads
Entertainment was really good, engaging and friendly. the food was good. There were some really good nights where the food was Amazing. Other times a bit mediocre. I was not a fan of the restaurant on the pier due to a bug problem.
The pool closes off at 6pm so dont get your hopes up for a late night dip.
Antigua is a very beautiful country and ultimately the trip was well spent. However theres room for improvement at halcyon cove. I would love to visit Antigua again. And hopefully get a room/experience worth my expenditure Hope this was helpful

Stayed here with my family Easter 2017, had an enjoyable holiday. Beach was superb although some seaweed had been washed up. Food was good, the buffet had a nice selection of local and international dishes. Evening entertainment was ok with a mixture of live bands, karaoke and dance acts. The rooms could do with a refurbishment but they were clean and the beds very comfortable, but the locks on the doors and patio were not the best. All in all if you want a nice beach holiday without paying silly money then this hotel could be for you.

I loved my overnight stay at Halcyon and I have to say was thoroughly satisfied with this family&friends resort! I was greeted by the most friendliest and informative staff!! When I first arrived the lobby area was very clean and had a warm Caribbean feel to it making my arrival for my vacation nice and relaxed. I was escorted to a beautiful one bedroom which had island flowers on my bed that set the tone once again for that Island Caribbean feeling. The room was extra clean and well stocked toiletries that I left behind in the states. The water pressure from the rainfall shower left me feeling relaxed from a long flight. Halcyon provided cable t.v. for me which I don't even have at home and a refrigerator to keep my beverages and sacks cool.Dinner was delicious outside amongst the stars! Even though there was a pool in site I preferred to spend my day relaxing on the most gorgeous and tranquil beach ever! I am so looking forward to coming back very soon with a group of friends and staying for more nights next time!
