Just a short walk from downtown, this museum takes about 45 minutes to review. It has a lot of good history from how the Island was formed, first settlers all the way up through today. I wish it had more information about 1900's until now and details about the different parishes of the island. Also, needs more information about Barbuda.

The Museum of Antigua and Barbuda is located in the Heart of St. John's city, Antigua, within walking distance of the St. John's Cruise Port, East & West Bu Stations and all other locations within the City and environs. The Museum itself is hosted in what use to be the Court House (historical Building) and the building itself makes no pretense of being modern and some may argue in need of a slight face-lift.

The history of Antigua from Prehistoric to recent is document in the form of literature, photos and actual artifacts. Locomotive trains from the colonial era when sugar was king, adorns the exterior along with other items from the Islands Rich Historic Past. The scale and diversity of the artifacts tend to reflect the small geographic area of the island and could be refreshed more frequently (whatever that means). 3.5 stars is a more accurate rating in my mind, perhaps that comes from experiencing other museums locally, regionally and internationally. Having said all that, The Museum of Antigua and Barbuda is a great place to visit for an historical overview of Antigua and Barbuda.

Lovely museum! Small, but a great overview of the islands history. While the museum is small, it can get rather busy when multiple cruise ships are in port. It is a short walk from the pier.

Small, one room museum, but with informative exhibits and helpful staff. Just in the center of town, a walkable distance from the market and cruise terminal.

Nice little museum. Some of the exhibits could use some updating. Also this is a cool building to visit as it used to be the court house. There are a couple of locomotives from the sugar cane days in front of the building and around the right side of it as well. Staff was friendly.

Small museum with a few interesting things but very basic. Does have an access ramp but it's very steep so if in a wheelchair then you're going to need a strong helper to push you up!!
    The staff are really friendly.

Small and interesting place with a lot of history, showing the history of Antigua and Barbuda, located in what it used to be a court house the outside of the building with its architecture is nice to admire and the displays at the museum are simple but very educational and interesting, don't miss it
