A place to visit must if you are interested in Civilization and History
Amazing space and architecture.
A real tour of the arts, crafts and culture of the Islamic civilisation and it's "tributaries" across the globe.
A tour of Islam and it's many influences and contributions to the history of human evolution.
We were staying in Dubai but desperately wanted to visit the Museum of Islamic Civilization in Sharjah so made the hour and half long trip, alas, we were left very disappointed. Its more a museum of general cultures throughout history as apposed to specific Islamic civilization. Much of the exhibits on display didn't give me any feel of what the religion was about, other than a section of mosque architecture throughout the world. I would have liked to things related to the Prophet, his companions, and other famous Islamic figures.
This place is amazing I have ever visited in Sharjah! I was so excited at Islamic culture studies there.
There are beautiful textiles, religious articles and so many photos. You will be able to learn a lot of Knowledge.
After visiting the extremely primitive and very poor exhibits that we were taken to in Dubai, I was surprised and delighted by this museum. The quantity, quality and presentation of what was exhibited was superb, very professional. I only regret the little time that our tour assigned to this museum. I was only able to see a very small fraction of what was available. If I could, I would go back with much more time to view it all.
An absolutely gorgeous museum with informative permanent exhibits and new exhibitions from time to time. Stunning architecture and helpful descriptions.
Good place to know about the Islam, ancient scientific instruments, coins, calligraphy and portraits. It is very calm and quiet place to learn about the history
If you could only do one thing in Sharjah, visiting this museum would be a great choice. It's collection is vast, rich and lovingly presented. It's exhibits consistenty offer a gentle, joyful and informative look at Islam, from a variety of perspectives (historical, creed, scientific, artistic, etc.) The museum has a simple cafe, an attractive gift shop and plenty of parking - - - but it's crown jewel is the interior of it's main dome. Be sure to take the stairs or elevator to the very top floor to sit in a huge armchair and gaze at the amazing tiled rendering of the constellations.
It contains many Islamic history and I enjoy visiting the place. And it Improves my knowledge of Islamic history.
Best place to visit. But limited viewing items only, nearest Sharjah aquarium is more attractive
Nice peaceful place I like it but some of the gallery items are repeated and just not given enough information But still a good place to know the Islamic culture and things used in good old days If you are visiting Sharjah then you must go
It is good place to know about tenets of Islam and Islamic rulers and whereabouts. It has separate section for inventions from Islamic era. It has multiple galleries.

I don't know why Sharjah museums are not popular among the tourists. They are all good, but this one is the pearl of them all. Huge museum, it takes at least 2 hours to visit it and there are some amazing stuff to seen.
