This has got to be by far the worst embassy I have ever been in! There is no information on what to do/bring with you on the website. I say for almost 2 hours waiting to get documents attested only to be told the copies I have are not correct and to walk to Spinneys to make copies. No application form on the website but one needs filling in. And the staff are the rudest people ever!

People Republic of China Consulate earlier accepts the application for China visas . But now they have given the outsource to an agency which is situated at Wafi mall. It’s called Chinese Visa application service center wafi mall, level 3, Falcon, phase 2, Umm Hurair 2, Dubai. The visa application can be submitted at this Wafi office. The cost of the visa had been increased as the applicant has to pay the service charges as well.

Of all the consulates and embassies in the UAE, the Chinese consulate in Dubai offers the worst consular service ever. Don’t even try to call or email the consulate - there will be no answering.

Since the consulate only offers one counter expect hours of waiting.

Be also ready to visit the consulate several times as the forms requested are not online - have to be filled in in Black pen only and only in capital letters. If you have company documents to be attested it is advisable to take the company stamp along and send the manager him/herself.

It takes 4 business days for an attestation of documents which are not ready on the mentioned collection date as per your pick-up receipt.

The system definitely needs some attention!

Firstly, I think the staff are doing their best with what they've got and with a bit of a push, can even be described as friendly. The whole system needs attention though - seriously. I arrived about 20 minutes before they officially open at 9am (they open the doors and you can get your token from about 8:30-ish). Despite this, I was number 41 in the queue. Visa agents just grab handfuls of tokens (understandable I guess). It was only my turn by 11am - two hours after opening time. Some maths: This means that, ignoring the few other application types that are processed, one visa application gets processed roughly every 3 minutes and there are 3 counters. That means each application takes about 9 minutes. I had all documentation 100% ready and my "face-time" was under 1 minute. I could only do this because I had, with a previous application, spent 10 minutes at the counter arguing (that time I arrived by 10 and spent 3 hours waiting) and noting down the required documentation - their website has last been updated in 2012 and leaves out a lot of requirements (like copy of your company's trade license if you're getting a business visa for example). So, in short, they can really avoid a lot of hassle by just being clear and updating their website - and maybe getting a fourth person to help out between 9am and 12am - and of course for customers to be a bit more organised when they lodge their application.

No need to come very early, just come 8:15 am and when they open the doors 8:30 you will get a ticket number from inside. Parking outside is free and plenty. It takes about 60-90 minutes waiting if you come after 9 am for a Visa. It takes 10-20 minutes waiting for passport pick up after 3 days from application (pay by credit card). They have a separate line (15-30 minutes waiting) for people who have questions and other issues. I wonder about the bad reviews and the people mentioning about coming early. Just make sure you have all papers "Documents" ready.

Simply trying to get information about renewing my Chinese visa and the website apparently hasn't been updated in years, plus nobody EVER answers the phone there. I've called 3 times and been on hold for nearly a half hour each time without ever actually reaching a human being and then being automatically disconnected. I keep reading the horror stories about people trying to visit the consulate, so I'm not going to waste my time with that. I'll just renew the visa with the police back in Shanghai who are very efficient and hard working - Unlike their comrades who get sent overseas. What a terrible representation for China to give the world. Very sad.

you get used to it after a few times. Still get random people teaching everyone in line that 'its not the way' etc etc.

My only advice is bring your old passport and take photocopies and prints with you (1 passport photocopy and 1 for the visa page)

Few days back the line wasn't outrageous, arrived at about 8 and was 25th on the list. I barely managed to fill and print my application form (and finish my cofee) on time before my token came up.

Was shat on by a bird while queueing outside and had to pay extortion amount to get a usb stick to print the form at the shop near spinneys.

Went back home to get the old passport, but managed in a day.

    Otherwise seems fine now.

I don't know if to laugh or to be sad from this experience at Chinese consulate in Dubai. The whole process of waiting is absolutely ridiculous.. (people waiting since 3am to be first in the line!!!!!) I felt like I went back in time or something This is 21st century and we should be able to apply online!!!!! Or at least they could improve the whole experience. Provide chairs or nice waiting area and speed up the process.. !!!! Totally disappointed by everything!!! Website is not updated and hard to navigate Very, very, very bad.. I came at 7:30 and my number was 51. good luck everyone! Make sure you pack your snacks and water before you go! Book or magazine is also highly recommended :D

Awful service. I finally managed to get through on the phone and the Arab lady who is apparently the only person who can answer the phone had no information. Just directed me to the website! When I asked her questions, she refused to help or get someone who could answer the questions and then hung up the phone. Terrible customer service, and clearly this lady does not want to do her job!!!

I applied from professional China Visa Process experts without visiting China Consulate. I didn't waste my time in the queue or drive to the consulate and the entire process was easy and professional plus free tour recommendations and pick up service for the passport, really worth it and hassle free. try it yourself and call 042560977
