I seldom write bad reviews; I mostly prefer to comment the good and ignore the bad. But in this occasion, I must comment the bad.

Basically, if you’re looking for a 5 star hotel with friendly service to make you feel good about your stay, this is not the place to come.

The good: it is a nice hotel, with good facilities; cozy room, good buffet, and great location downtown (10 min away from Dubai Mall).
The bad: service. It’s been a very long time since I have experienced such poor service, multiple mistakes, lack of enthusiasm and unwilling to make you feel a respectable guest. They even checked me out a day earlier and locked me out of my room without my personal belongings.

One of best hotels that I stayed in!

The chick in and out was easy and simple.
The staff were very friendly and helpful!
Everything was clean.
Rooms were spacious and tidy.
Breakfast was delicious and had a lot of options.

Everything was great and I enjoyed my stay there.

My experience in Sofitel was great ; from the great hospitality to the delectable cuisines. The upbeat ambiance and music was like the cherry on top for the experience. To start off with, the food was delicious! The meat was so tender and cooked to perfection.The broad array of cuisines was just what I needed this weekend and this restaurant served it on a silver platter. Big thanks to the musician who played the saxophone so beautifully whilst my family and I indulged in our lunch. The workers were incredibly nice and sweet; we even got the chance to talk to some of them. Overall my family and I had a great experience in this restaurant and I would recommend it to you if you are looking for a family brunch or weekend getaway.
Thank you to the restaurant manager, Mr. Mahdi for improving our experience by showing my kids and I some magic tricks .

Wonderful hotel, staff and location. It is always a delight to stay at the Sofitel. This particular location has a spectacular pool and club floor. The front desk, club and concierge team are one-of-a-kind. These people love their jobs, and it shows!

We stayed here for 8 nights in May. The Hotel upgraded our room for free which was a lovely surprise. The room was spacious and clean. The views were outstanding. Staff at the hotel were always helpful, especially Wilson who took us to the beach in the hotel bus. Location is ideal for the mall and easy travel to other tourist attractions.

Great hotel and convenient location but don't mind the food! Comfortable elegant & clean rooms as per Sofitel's high standards worldwide. Cross the street and you can walk right into the Dubai Mall through the foot bridge. Unfortunately the view to the Burj Khalifa tower is obscured by new high rises. So choose a view on the city instead. The restaurant isn't run by Sofitel and is unacceptable by Sofitel standards. Avoid at all cost.

One of the most unique hotel in Dubai, location outstanding walking distance to Burj Khalifa the tallest building in the world , Dubai Mall, and Metro Station in 50 meter next to the hotel. Staff is well trained. Banquet staff is organized, very active and dynamic every second! Life is Magnificent.🎉

Been to Sofitel Dubai Downtown with my sisters and had a great pool experience. The staff were attentive, accommodating and friendly especially to Mr. Michael their Team Leader who warmly welcomed us. The location is great and hassle free in transportation. This would definitely recommend and surely will come back again! Thumbs up! ;)

Wow, the rooms are hugh. You get a very large room and a very large bathroom. There is a very nice bathtub standing freely in the room and next to it a large rain shower. The bathroom has two sinks. The room and bathroom were always clean. The buffet was very good. It has a large selection of foods. The personal was always friendly. The hotel is next the a subway station, very handy. I would stay here again.

Worst spa experience ever, facilities are not fully separate for females and we saw a man enter the ladies section! There is no security at all. If you want a real spa experience don’t go to this spa.

Second time to stay in this hotel. It has a modern style that made it attractive. Its location in the downtown made it very convenient. The staff are generous and helpful all the time. The one who checked us in gave us upgrade to the club rooms which has a very nice view. Thanks to them all they made our visit to Dubai special.

This was on the top of my bucket list for a long time. It did not disappoint. While it was busy with many visitors, it was very well organized. The gardens/fountains are beautiful. The entire courtyard is magnificent. One of the minarets was under construction while I was there, but it did not take away from the magical feeling of this larger than life destination. I was part of a tour; we were allowed to wander freely and meet back at a certain time. The tour guide advised there was a long wait/queue to enter the mausoleum, it is crowded and you are rushed along. He stated it may not be worth for everyone and may be disappointing. I waited in the queue, which moved rapidly, and we were rushed through and it was heavily crowded inside, but it was well worth it. That and wandering near the entrance and around the outside of the mausoleum observing the views was breathtaking.

My stay at Sofitel Downtown Dubai was great. I arrived very early in the morning after an overnight flight. I was upgraded to a club room, which was ready at that time, so I could get some sleep and freshen up before venturing out.
Everyone was helpful and pleasant. THE concierge helped with sorting out transfers for tours that had been pre-arranged. The bell desk delivered clothing to my room (after calling to conform the purchase and delivery)that had been bought and delivered to the hotel. The restaurant staff greeted me by name each morning. The doorman was always ready with a smile to open the door, whether I was leaving or returning.

An excellent experience for our whole family, we enjoyed every minute of our stay and your entire team was excellent with their service.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by concierge and our room was immediately modified to accompany our kids, our requests were adhered to right away.
The buffet breakfast was phenomenal and we all enjoyed it thoroughly.
We booked our BurjKhalifa and desert safari tour through the hotel which was excellent. We also booked a chauffeured driver to take us around Dubai and show us the sites which was also excellent.
Thank you so much and looking forward to returning to Sofitel Dubai Downtown.

This was my second stay at this property and it was fabulous. The facilities are very clean, the atmosphere is calming, the rooms spacious, quiet and welcoming, and - most importantly - the staff were fantastic. Everyone I encountered was professional, friendly, and willing to help with any need that I had. Julia, who greeted my colleague and me in the lobby upon our arrival was especially helpful and kind as was Viktoriia at the breakfast buffet. I am looking forward to returning!

Staff was very efficient and hospitable. Comfortable room and contained enough complimentary goods.

The gym was pretty well equipped, and the restaurant's options were quite nice and varied.

I was not able to pair my phone to the speaker's Bluetooth, and I think the fact that the TV started with the loud song was not too pleasant. Also, at some point I think some channels were not available anymore (FOX, Nat Geo, etc.); more channel options in English would be appreciated.

All in all, I would definitely come back!

The hotel is top rate! Not much to complain of. Staff is very professional and a contribute to hotel's hiring practice. Amenities are numerous and impressive. Though a professional work related stay-plan to return on a leisurely stay in future. Hotel room is top notchbut the room temperature could not be controlled through thermostat controller. A traveler around the world (for work) for most months-this hotel is one of the finest I've ever come across! An easy score of "10".

Great food, great hostessing. I loved the mosaic pool mostly and I tried the Thai Massage it was great. The location of the hotel is perfect just next to the metro station and your staff is very friendly. Simply the best hotel for business or leisure.

This is a world class luxury hotel. My wife and I loved the staff, as they were friendly and willing to go above and beyond to help with anything. The food choices in the hotel are good as well. The spa and gym are nice well kept and neat. The pool area gives you a very calming and relaxing atmosphere. Amenities were very very nice. I can go on for days about how good this hotel is. But 5 stars should give an indication of how great it is.

I cannot fault our stay at the Sofitel Downtown Dubai. From our speedy check-in, to complimentary extended check-out, the great food and huge room. everything was perfect. The only big negative which is not the hotel's fault is there is so much building going on around, every where you look you see a crane or a building sight.
Also it was a shame the kids club was closed and they were using a very basic meeting room as make shift but this was not so bad as we took ourselves out. The pool area is fabulous for a city hotel.The staff everywhere are just beyond nice and helpful. Nothing is too much for them and we will definitely come back to this hotel for based on the staff alone.
