You can buy a brand new car, pre-approved used car, do your service, renew insurance, renew driving licence, drink coffee, all in one place.

    Dear Ford Team,

    Greetings from Egypt.

My Name is Baher Kameel Kamel and obviously I’m from Egypt.
I have own a Ford Focus Ghia 2008.
Ever since I bought the car and I’m taking a very good care of it and I do all my services in the official service center that actually belongs to the official dealer in Egypt, even thought it is more expensive than any other service center in Egypt.

Now, I’m writing to you because I have a big problem with the official dealer and service center here in Egypt (Auto Gameel).

Around 3 months ago I had a small accident and the right side of the car was bumped. I sent it to the service center to have car fixed. The damage was in the right passenger door, side mirror & front right bumper.
I also asked them to do the periodical service as my car reached 120,000 KM.

What I was told that they will do the regular service of changing oils and filters, but they will have to change Transmission oil as well.

Two months later, I finally got my car back, but unfortunately many things weren’t done properly, below is the list:
    • The side mirror wasn’t fixed properly.
    • The inside mirror was broken (from a previous service and I asked them to do fix it, but it wasn’t done).
    • The damaged door wasn’t still lose after being fixed.
    • The front left lights and signs weren’t working.
    • The 2 Ghia sings were missing.

All the above mentioned is minor things that can be accepted.

But to my surprise, on the same day when I received the car, I discovered that there is something wrong with the transmission.
When I put the car on reverse and press the peddle the car didn’t move as if I’m putting it on idol, then suddenly the gears reconnect and start moving again.

I took the car again to the service center and told them about the problem, they took the car for around 10 days and told me that as per the system the car is ok, but when they try it they see the glitch.
Accordingly, they wanted to open the transmission to check if there is anything wrong with it.
Just to discover what is wrong would have cost me EGP 2,250 which is of course a lot.

I told them that this would be fins as long as they will fix the transmission on their own expense as I gave them the car fully functional and I received it with this major problem. They didn’t want to confirm this, so I told them that I’ll write to you and wait for your answer.

I took the car last Thursday 16th of June, and they didn’t tell me that I shouldn’t be driving the car.
Then in the very next day, Friday 17th of June, while I was driving the car, the car showed me a message saying Transmission Failure & Motor Failure.
When I stopped is saw oil on the ground leaking from the car. I checked under it and the oil was dripping from the car.

I had to toll the car to the service center, and payed EGP 1,500, and now they told me that I’ll have to change the gearbox and I’ll have to pay for it as well, even though it is quite obvious it is their fault.

What I know about Ford is that it is a company that is committed to producing and maintaining some world class cars. And frankly I love this car, that is why I took very good car of it. So what is happening to me right now is a shock for me.

Back then when I was buying the car I chose Ford because of its quality and durability, vs. other cars that could have been more affordable to me. I didn’t expect that the car will require a total new transmission system after 120,000 KM. especially knowing that other Korean brands like Kia & Hyundai would lasted much longer than this.

Moreover, I was really surprised that the official dealer and service center didn’t want to bear the cost of something they did or at the very least they are responsible of.

So kindly I’m asking for your intervention to have this problem over and done with.

P.S. I was on the very of buying a new Ford Kuga, but now I’ll put my decision on hold.

Many thanks for your understanding and efforts.

    Cheers,
    Baher
