Very bad communication I called for a food poisoning to meet a doctor at 6:50 , they advised me it’s faster to go to the emergency room where they kept me 1 hour to see me, then they said they will do a blood test and I have to wait for 75 minutes for results.
Very bad treatment and they don’t seem to know what they’re doing honestly. Just billing to the insurance anything and wasting patients time.
I get my kid admitted in the hospital, I may rate the nursing staff as the best ever, specially Sonu who is always caring, extremely kind and always wears a lovely smile on her face.
The nurses were even caring more than the doctors themselves, which is really nice however I was barely seeing any doctor passing by to check on my baby's health status.
The doctors' presence was very disappointing and even after my baby got discharged, they didn't care to check if everything went well or not and the surgeon was on leave for around 2 weeks and I showed to the customer service how it was very disappointing after operation followups, however no one cares.
I can clearly sum up that the hospital is great because of a couple of caring doctors (like the great pediatric Dr Amr), the great nurses, the nice service from the housekeeping staff as well as the kitchen team.
Please work on letting the patient be worry free through providing good number of doctors on duty for the inpatient departments.
Also make sure to consider the patients' feedback.
I have just experienced the most exquisite care and medical treatment at Al Zahra Hospital (Al Barsha) and would like to share my very positive experience with Doctors, Nurses and Pharmacy staff.
Yesterday (29th Jan '22) I was admitted to Al Zahra Hospital for a colonoscopy and gastroscopy at 10:00 a.m. I had previously met with Dr. Denesh Gopalan (25th Jan '22), my gastroenterologist for a consultation. Dr. Denesh took the time to go over the gastro problems I was experiencing and ask questions about my medical history. This was followed by a brief examination of the abdominal area. A date was arranged promptly, along with the instructions for meds to be taken beforehand. Medications were obtained at the hospital Pharmacy prior to leaving. The Pharmacy team are unbelievably fast and efficient at dispensing patients' prescriptions.
I would like to give a special mention to Jeanette, who is Dr. Denesh's nurse in the Gastro Dept. 3rd Floor. What a delightful lady to have as your liaison person. It was Jeanette who dealt with my insurance company, made sure I understood how to take the medications to be consumed beforehand and answered many of the questions I had before my procedure took place. Jeanette was very gracious whenever I contacted her (even on her day off. My bad!) I cannot thank her enough for her patience, professionalism and attention to detail. Very much appreciated Jeanette. You are one in a million!
On the morning of my procedure I made my way to Endoscopy Dept. on the first floor. The hospital has a policy that a patient's COVID negative test must be presented upon admission and no more that 48 hours since it was taken.
The Endoscopy Team at 10:00 a.m. had been active for some hours and I was Dr. Denesh's 8th patient that morning! So things were abuzz by the time I was prepped and ready to enter the op area. The anesthesiologist Dr. Mohammed came and introduced himself before I was wheeled in for the start of the op. I have Raynaud's which I had explained to the nurse. It means that I feel the cold temperatures very easily. Could I have a blanket please during the procedure to stay warm? Not a problem :)
The nurses checked all information in the system was true and correct. My wristband was attached. The cannula was attached to the back of my hand and off we went.
Everyone inside the operating room gave a very upbeat and energetic vibe.which I loved!! Before, during and after the procedures while in recoveryI don't believe there was one second I wasn't being monitored by one of the many nurseswho seemed to be in perpetual motion!!
Each and every one of these young men and women deserve all the recognition in the world for how caring and professional they are. I want to say Thank You to them ALL by name in the hope that Al Zahra Management will also recognize the extraordinary level of care and attention they provided, not only to me but others who were in the same situation as myself on that day.

The standards of protection for both staff and patients were in place 100% of the time. What an amazing team who never wavered once in spite of all the pressure they must face daily. I respect what you do and can see you have a passion for what you do. THANK YOU!
PS Thank you for the snack pack. I was starving!!!
As AlZahra hospital patient for years I appreciate the greatest service that the hospital provides. My recent experience was a submission for a surgery. I'm following up with the Dr that I really appreciate his efforts and care Dr. Mahmoud Tabbal. I've gone through the same surgery 11years ago, however, it was difficult. The doctor was so transparent from day one explaining the case and giving three possibilities for the surgery.
The doctor is one of the best surgeons in Dubai. He provides the best medical care and support to the patients.
The Dr nurse Bency always follow up with me for appointments, test results, my condition.
My whole journey with the hospital was easy and smooth. The rooms are spacious and clean. Honestly they helped me along the way until my surgery healed.
Thank you 🙏🏻
If you’re planning to get your PCR test here don’t do it! I went to Al Zahra hospital yesterday at 1 pm and left at 5 pm. I had to wait for more than 4 hours (mostly standing up because it was raining) to find out that they are charging 200 dirhams for the test. There was a line with over 100 people waiting and only two nurses doing the pcr tests.
Once you finally get inside there is another line that will take you over an hour to get through for registration and another one for the actual test. It amazes me the AUDACITY these people have to charge a lot more than other places and yet have the worst customer service. Won’t go back there and none of my friends and family will either. Please keep in mind that if you’re taking seniors or elderly people with you this is not the place to go.
Worst emergency service ever!!! I am 20 weeks pregnant, been suffering from flu like symptoms and vomiting heavily, visited the emergency at 8 pm and been waiting for two hours already, there were still a number of patients ahead of me, I was not well enough to wait anymore and left the hospital as I knew from one previous experience that once being seen, the examinations and treatments would probably take till morning with each nurse and doctor taking their own time to see me for each examination. This was my second vand last visit.
My mother is a regular patient in Cardiology doing regular lab test. To get the results, it will take ages even after calling them for follow up. The Doctor and the nurse doesn't care at all. This is the only hospital that doesn't inform the patient for the lab results on time. Other hospitals even small ones, Doctor calls and explain the result within 3 days. This hospital takes 3 weeks without calling us back. The only reason we come here is because my mother's insurance is covered in this hospital.
It s actually a 0 stars the worst hospital ever . Every time i say never again and i find myself for an emergency reason since good Drs would be busy booking in this so called hospital
Treatment is bad. Diagnoses not accurate you never go on time based on your appointment slot
And to top it employees with attitude instead of being helpful
We just came back from this hospital. We been, here in emergency with my son 8yo, he was vomiting too hard. We came late night to emergency, spend there about 4 hours for 1st medical treatment and after shifted to hospital room. We spent at hospital full day. Now, son filling much better and we at home. We are very appropriate to all staff at hospital for their support and help us to much. all staff are very professional and very good facilities and comfortable room.
The hospital is clean and have good doctors. But the experience at emergency department was not good. Emergencies in hospitals should be centered arround the patient.
Forgetful and slow nurses in the emergency and inpatient wards. Stayed there for 1 day and were visited by 3 or 4 different doctors. Every time a doc walked in he/she asked me the same question: "Tell me what happened". Why couldn't they look at the reports and medical history themselves?
When asked if I should come back a week later for a follow-up, the last doctor I saw simply said: "There are two options: to come back and not to come back".
I just laughed.
So our first visit to a hospital with our 9 year old went surprisingly quite well. Upon our family doctor request we went to Al Zahra’s ER. My son was quite quickly evaluated and seen by a doctor. I didn’t like what I heard so the doctor offer a second opinion from another doctor. The process was very efficient, all facilities were clean, the staff was super professional. I really liked the simplicity and efficiency of checkout and pharmacy pickup. By the way both doctors were correct with their diagnosis! Really, thank you!
Staying at home or going to a nearby pharmacy is probably better than coming to this hospital i went there at 9am it is now almost 1pm and we still havent left. Its a simple case of stomache ache but they had to do an ultra sound, blood test, urine test. Just to charge as much as they can they already gave him a pain killer but he has to take an other one to make sure he is as drowsed as possible. I have never seen such horrible experience this is the last time i ever come here.
P.S this is the emergency experience not sure how bad the outpatient or inpatient clinics are.
Edit: I was contacted by one of their PR agents immediately and i respected that a lot to be honest. So bumping it to two for them trying to improve. Hopefully they would, honestly they have the potential.
Made us wait for 2 hours when we approached the hospital to see a dr. While they mentioned
nothing of a wait when we asked to see the dr.
When we approached the counter to complain about the wait and explained to the gent that in any organization any where in the world and especially in a hospital where you should have patients rather than customers, you are supposed to inform a customer if there is a wait of so and the customer is to decide wether he will wait or not. This is the standard rather than an opinion. The amazing gent said illustriously “this is our standard”.
Terrible experience. My daughter had hugh fever. We went to emergency. They did not check her temperature for more than a n your until I started yelling and only then they have my some attention. As per the health authority they should do quick screening to evaluate each case but that not happen.
Never again. Don't easy your time and go to another hospital.
The hospital is very clean, staff is very nice and helpful.
I have one disappointing issue for new born, there are specific tests that should be made: some of them is covered by the insurance and some others are not covered. The hospital refused to do the insurance approved tests and asked to make all the tests as one package with cash payment and even did not accept to make the approved tests to be charged to the insurance co as they consider it as one package and shall be paid in cash as the full package is not covered, the reason they said that they do not handle these tests internally and they have a third party contracted with them to handle it as package!!!
The option for me either to pay the full package or to make the test in another hospital which both are disappointing and bad.
Hospital is really clean, staff with whom I met were kind. Doctors are experienced. Could vary case to case but what I have seen from my experience its good hospital. Free wallet parking is also provided by hospital for the visitors which is also one of the blessings when you are bringing someone in emergency.
I cam here on Friday for an Emergency case for my son. I checked in at almost 9PM. Up till now, ( 10:24pm) no one took care of my child. The only thing they took is my child’s medical insurance card!
Seriously guys.. what does emergency case mean here?? I’m still waiting for someone to come and diagnose my child’s case.
Update: I left by 11:45 pm!!! 2 hours, 45 minutes to treat an emergency case.
Compare with the nieborhood hospital.. al zahra is the five stars hospital in all aspects from cleaning to health care
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! My daughter had a surgery here and they did an AMAZING job, the doctor was supposed to have a day off today but he came and worked anyways in the early morning if it wasn't for their 24 hour service. We were well attended at ALL times.
All my interactions with Al Zahra hospital was beyond expectations. I was first admitted for Melanoma and Lymph Node surgery into the general ward. I was blown away with the cleanliness and dedication. The staff was really friendly and knowledge full. I had a very pleasant stay and minimal pain. All due to Dr Sadir, his team and Al Zahra Hospital.
Two weeks later I was admitted again for Gallbladder removal. The same team and ward took care of me. Once again beyond the standards of many hotels I have stayed in.
All follow up consultations was excellent. I felt like they really cared!
I for one will go nowhere else but Al Zahra! The UAE can be truly proud of this hospital. Specifically Dr Sadir Alwari and his team!
I have visited this hospital many times (emergency, urologist, family medicine and OB). According to my experience, everything was great. The day I went for emergency, They injected me but the doctor asked me to come back to see an urologist because what they gave me was only to calm the pain. I did echography, bought medicine from the pharmacy, did analysis, and MRI, all were great. The staff was incredibly nice especially for Echography, MRI and laboratory staff. I didn't give 5 stars because, there is no follow up from the doctor's side, you don't feel you are a patient and the relation you are supposed to have with your doctor. the OB called me to check with the MRI report after 1 month because I didn't go back. When I decided to go back I booked an appointment that was not put in the system and I didn't receive a confirmation., also, it takes a long time to book an appointment for any service. Therefore, I gave up and decided to check another hospital because I may need to do a surgery and I don't feel I want to do it in this hospital even they have very good doctors and very nice staff.
Awful experiences : the number 1 and most distressing experience is when my wide got told by one of the Doctor (lady) told my 40 weeks pregnant wife the day before her induction to step out of her office and that she will give birth on her own as she will not come for her. My wife had found out that this Dr had scheduled the induction at 6am while the would only reach the clinic at 10am. My wife had only asked her to be present as she had a first complicated birth and got treated in the most awful way. This matter will be taken to Dubai Health Authority. I strongly advise to stay away from this awful person who does not respect her patients, her doctor uniform and the life of new born a risk!!!!!
Disappointed and incredibly frustrating. Was not a positive experience overall but I am grateful to some specific staff who tried their best to help us battle the bureaucracy and get our son the treatment he needed.
There are some great facilities and some excellent medical professionals. There are also some less professional/competent medical staff.
The single biggest problem is the billing and insurance team who I feel should be fired and replaced. My first encounter was frustrating and that didn't change over the course of 2 weeks. E.g. while being readmitted for urgent treatment at admissions there was delay of over 40 minutes as they couldn't confirm if our insurance provided the right cover (still not resolved after this time). Discharge took 5hrs 50 from the time the doctor said we could take our baby home to the time I walked out the door. 5hrs 50 - that is beyond ridiculous. In contrast when we went to city hospital they called the insurance company and had received written confirmation of coverage within only 7 minutes. Discharge took 15 minutes. I think that says it all.
I have had several interactions with them and i must say they are very good! One of these was a Gallbladder removal procedure and it went very smoothly and professionally.
I would however recommend they up their fame in the Emergency area. The time it takes and the level of attention is not that of being admitted to the actual ward.
AVOID THIS HOSPITAL. This hospital is the worse hospital I ever experienced in my entire life. NO SERVICE, INCOMPETENT STAFF, NO COMMUNICATION WITH THE PATIENT, POOR FACILITIES. The only thing they were organized at was when they wanted to charge you. The ambulance took my brother to this place and after staying one night there and after doing CT scan and heart test and meeting so many incompetent doctors finally one doctor came and discharged my brother and told us that there is nothing and he has to go home and rest. As I did not trust this hospital after a day of nightmare with them, I took my brother to MEDICLINIC WELCARE HOSPITAL and just there it showed up that my brother got stroke and even the doctor there said if I had not bring him there it would be a big risk that he dies. I am going to sue Al Zahra Hospital because what happened to my brother can happen other people as well.
OK, I have to say that Al Zahra hospital has some great, highly professional doctors and nurses, as well as very nice facilities. But, their receptionists are horrible. They ruined every single visit for us because of their lack of professionalism, common sense, and communication skills. The problem with the pediatrics department is that every time we come in, we are forced to wait additional 30-45 minutes after our appointment time, because there is always someone cutting the line. I'm highly understanding and sympathetic when a child has a high fever and needs to see the doctor immediately, but there is an emergency section for those kinds of patients. I've seen 3 doctors so far for my son's condition and still no solution. Each visit is a waste of time and money. It takes 10-15 days to book an appointment with a dermatologist with the excuse that there are only 3 pediatric dermatologists in the hospital and some of them are only part-timers. I'm going to another hospital to get a second opinion. I'm tired of hearing excuses and being treated poorly by receptionist staff whose sentences start with a fake smile and an infamous "because ma'am" every single time.
AVOID THIS HOSPITAL:
Went to ER because it was Friday and we needed a pediatrician. They took a sample from my toddler to test for bacteria and didn't get back to us with results until we called a week later. Meanwhile we went to another doctor.
Edit: The same has happened again with my pregnant wife's bloodwork. Needless to day, it was a critical blood test for the fetus, so it's only normal that we would be awaiting the results restlessly. No one called us to give us the results, 10 days passed and we called every day and no one responded.
In the end, it turns out they took the blood samples and never ended up doing the blood tests. They pocketed the money and "lost the blood samples". Is this really a certified hospital?
If I could score them zero stars I would.
The worst hospital everfilled with incompetent staffno one follows up on your scans and lab results
Just delivered there couple of days backmy epidural went bad all the way and still having back painthey lost my doctor's prescription (my doctor was from another hospital thanx God) I had to ask for pain killers every two hoursi had to call the nurse every time to remind her of my medicationafter 14 hours in labor none of my doctor's instructions were followed..I had to contact my doctor every now and then because no one from the hospital cared how I was doingnurses were too busy and doctors were too arrogantno one helped me after delivery in any way They gave the baby a bath immediately after her vaccination which was on the last hour before I get discharged
I felt like staying in a bad hotel room with really bad service
No medical care was providedvery bad serviceA WORD TO THE WISE; don't let them ruin your experience if you are pregnant and never trust their medical services, They can't take care of youadmin people would come and talk to you after you get dischargedshame on you to be calling this a medical facility
#AlZahraHospitalDubai
the worst hospital and service I have ever seen. What a shame to have such a bad hospital in a such great city like Dubai. I would not even give 1 star, unfortunately, there is no choice for no star option. About the Hospital, what I can say is they try to rob money from you, and the treatment is totally unacceptable, I believe in the cheapest hospital around the world has got better treat to the patients. What happened is, just in front of me the doctor (if I can say a doctor, better call a robber) was just making an experiment on a 2 years old baby. And she was having 39.7 degrees of temperature. No one was checking while they put the fluid to the baby. As I said, please try not to go there at all. If you need your own or your family members' health.
