Where to go for CS:GO fans: major tournaments of summer 2023

While the professional scene, teams, and players speculate about the transition to Counter-Strike 2, tournament organizers are preparing for the resumption of the competitive season and the hosting of new championships.

Already in mid-July, the pro scene will return to the big screens and offer fans several exciting events that will last until the end of summer.

2023 in CS:GO. BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2023

Copenhagen, Denmark

The scene will finally come out of vacation on July 13, when the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2023 begins. The championship will last until July 23 and will offer participants a prize pool of $177,498, six spots in the Fall Finals, and ranking points in the season's table.

As before, twelve partner teams of the tournament operator BLAST will compete in the event: Astralis, BIG, Heroic, OG, Vitality, Team Liquid, Ninjas in Pyjamas, G2 Esports, Natus Vincere, FaZe Clan, Complexity Gaming, and Evil Geniuses.

The main interest of the championship lies in the latest transfers, which turned out to be enough to excite the community and surprise many fans. In particular, the tournament will introduce the updated concept of "Born to Win" with an international roster, rejuvenated Germans from BIG, another transfer failure of Evil Geniuses and Astralis, as well as targeted reinforcements for Vitality and Complexity Gaming.

The format of the championship will remain unchanged: teams will start with the group stage, then proceed to the Play-In, where they will compete for spots in the season's autumn finals.

IEM Cologne 2023

LANXESS Arena, Cologne, Germany

The next stop for renowned teams will be Germany. There, in Cologne, the iconic IEM Cologne 2023 will take place. The championship will be held from July 25 to August 8, and the playoffs will be played at the landmark LANXESS Arena.

As before, the tournament prize pool will amount to one million dollars. In addition, the winner will receive a slot in the IEM Katowice 2024.

The championship will involve 24 teams from Europe, CIS, Latin America, Asia, and Oceania. The tournament will be divided into three key stages: Play-In, group stage, and playoffs.

Participants in the group stage: G2 Esports, FaZe Clan, Team Vitality, ENCE, Heroic, Cloud9, Natus Vincere, and GamerLegion.

Participants in the Play-In stage: fnatic, Monte, paiN Gaming, Ninjas in Pyjamas, FORZE, Astralis, Into The Breach, MOUZ, 9INE, Apeks, FURIA, Team Liquid, Imperial Esports, The MongolZ, BIG, and Grayhound Gaming.

The top eight teams from the Play-In stage will advance to the group stage, where they will compete for six spots in the playoffs. The decisive stage of the championship will be played in a Single-Elimination format.

Gamers8 2023

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

The summer at the TIER-1 level will conclude in Saudi Arabia, where Gamers8 2023 will take place. The event will be held from August 14 to 20 in Riyadh. While the country's authorities are only planning to build a "city of esports," the best teams on the planet will battle for a total prize pool of $1,000,000.

The championship will involve sixteen teams, one of which will be determined based on the results of the final qualification in early July.

However, it has already been confirmed that Apeks, Cloud9, ENCE, FURIA, Heroic, Team Falcons, GamerLegion, FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, Natus Vincere, fnatic, Virtus.pro, Vitality, MIBR, and G2 Esports will participate in Gamers8 2023.

The championship format consists of a Single-Elimination bracket. Thus, each team will not have the right to make mistakes.

The summer events in CS:GO promise to be exciting. Three major tournaments featuring the strongest teams will brighten up the leisure time of every fan and help pass the time while waiting for the release of CS2.
