Decided to grab a coffee on my commute to work today. I bought a take away as there was a sign saying 'No sit down orders before 7h15.'
There were however people already sitting. So I took my coffee and asked to sit. The server agreed. The manager then marched up to me and rudely said "we open at 7h15!" That attitude was unnecessaryand if you gonna make rulesplease be consistent. Thanks. Won't see me again.👎

I hope the owner or manager reads these reviews, because they are positive criticism. No manager in sight and also very dirty tables. It should be cleared pro-actively, not only on request or by demand - it definitely doesn’t look very appealling to possible customers. We always stop here every December. I really trust that it will look better next time we pass here. I must add: Queen did a good job in waitressing. The food was nice and quite fast. It is really just the appearance of the tables and the floor and the fact that it is stated: “please wait to be seated”, but there is no waitress or anyone waiting at the entrance or nearby to show you a seat.

Visited on our way to the coast on a rainy very busy morning and the manager managed the long queue and expectations of customers excellently. The hostess ensured our kids are happy providing balloons whilst we wait and getting them their food in a rush. Was very impressed.

Lovely lady manager trying to keep a absolutely breath taking lazy group of staff working. Unfortunately she fails. 3rd time here and same story each time. Wait to be serviced. Then convince staff to clear tables from previous peoples plates, wait another 10 minutes get menus. Fetch a waiter order and then wait and wait
This time after asking for our money back and being ignored, we simply run out of time and had to leave. In short paid to have 45 minutes wasted with nothing to show for it.

Fantastic service. Petrol Attendant was helpful friendly and quick to our service. At Wimpy the staff were quick friendly and whipped up a mean burger! Keep up the great work!

Good and safe place to stop. Easy access as well as exit. Some pumps were out of order when we were there and tyre pressure gages not calibrated. I over inflated all my tires.

Well organized. Can get very busy, but they can handle high volumes of people. Food was good. Nice to stop here.

I can only comment one good aspect about Wimpy - or at least this branch - the service was quite friendly. Everything else was a huge dissapointment.

We have visited this Wimpy many times on our trips to and from Gauteng, in fact, it has become our family tradition. Well, that ain't gonna happen again. I don't know if it's just this Wimpy or all Wimpy's in the world, but while the prices just go up and up, value becomes nonexistent. There are three big problems we had with our meals.

Firstly, the classic Wimpy Burger my son ordered was totally unnapealling. It was ridiculously small compared to previous times and there weren't even any sesame seeds on the bun (No offense to McDonalds, but it looked like something you would buy from them). Wimpy smartly places their chips in a cup so that you're tricked into thinking you get a lot when, really, you get far less than when they're placed straight on the plate. Also, they were lost about a mile away from the burger on the plate. I believe that if they're going to make the meal smaller they should make the plate smaller too - again.

Secondly, my omelette was advertised so that one believes they're made of real eggs when instead they're made of powdered eggs, nothing like the picture in the menu.

Finally, the milkshakes also seem to have gotten smaller and the taste (for the strawberry at least) is no longer like it used to be, it now tastes like a chemical concoction. The memory still haunts me.(The marshmallows and sweets that are scattered on top of the cream look good but add nothing to the milkshake in terms of taste).

In conclusion, our family tradition at the Bloemfontein 1 Stop Wimpy has ended. Something I really am sorry about. Contrary to our experience at Wimpy, the Steers at Shell, which we had stopped by on the way up, was good quality for money and left us satisfued. Do yourself a favor and stop there rather.

Wimpy is like plastic in food form. The tomato sauce is inedible. Everything is just icky if you've ever eaten fresh vegetables in your life.
