When traveling takes up 75% of your time, you do not want nasty surprises when you walk into your rented room This is why Waterside is my request whenever I am in the area. The big spacious rooms with the en-suite bathrooms just calls you again and again. Their restaurant features superb food, good portions and great service. The best of all, each chalet has its own covered parking, and at under ZAR600 / night, it is very very very budget friendly.

Not recommended. The building is in a state of disrepair. Cockroaches in the room. Lights not working in the room. Shower tiles loose. No breakfast And the list goes on.
Not value for money at all.

Have been waiting for my meal for two hours now. I keep getting bullsh#£ explanations everytime I enquire. Last time I enquired I was promised it will be delivered to my room in 10 minutes. That was 40 minutes ago. I come to Piet Retief every 2 weeks, I will never make the mistake of visiting this establishment again. No wifi too

First of all they had the booking totally wrong - we asked for two self-catering units and received standard chalets without any self-catering facilities. Then, when we made them alert of the mistake they were able to offer us one self-catering unit. BUT shockingly it did not have anything inside to do any catering! For instance no braai utensils, not enough cutlery, no sharp knives, a microwave without a plate inside and a cord that is too short. It doesn't end there, but hopefully this describes the experience

I must add one positive - the place is very neat inside.
