BE CAREFUL - THERE ARE FRAUDSTERS WORKING HERE! I recently visited the branch asking to be shown the facilities for me to consider moving from my current gym brand. After chatting with a sales consultant named ONGIE for a while, she offered a 1-month contract to make use of the facility before deciding to proceed with any permanent contract. ONGIE took all my details & captured them on her pc. When she asked me for my banking details, I refused but then she assured that it was only to process an access card & promised that there will not be any debits off my account & this is not for a contract. After refusing for a while, she convinced me to gave the details to her & I was given an access card & charged R50. About 2 weeks later I called to inform them that I didn't want to proceed with the membership & that they should close the account. That's when I was told that I had been entered into a 1 Year Premier Membership for over R700 per month. When I spoke to the Manager, ASHLEY, he simply told me theres nothing that we could do because they have a contract. When I asked him to call on ONGIE, she began blatantly denying all that I was saying. She insisted that I fabricated the entire story & that I told her to open the 1 year premium membership. Ashley also took her part. Only later when I called to complain at head office was it found that the procedure is for me to be shown a hard copy of a contract before entering into a contract, which I was not. I didn't even go to any office, the contract was done at the front desk where there are cameras. I think only then did they have to concede defeat & the account was closed a week later. Even during this week I kept calling to ask them for a written confirmation but my calls were avoided & messages not returned, also all emails went on deaf ears.
Read every word of the contract because they are out to get you.

Virgin Active Randburg is a fantastic gym! The staff are friendly and helpful. The gym is quite spacious and offers a variety of different gym equipment to cater for everyone's needs.

My local gym and place for exercise and getting fit. I really like it here, well equipped and plenty of space and different options for all related to fitness. The staff are friendly and helpful with excellent service and capable instructors to help with every aspect of your fitness routine and needs. JGT

Awesome gym. Happy and friendly staff. A lot of classes to choose from. Well maintained bathrooms and change rooms. Physio. Kauai. Pool. Squash courts. Everything you need.

Love the space here. Lots of lanes in the pool is definitely a win. Nice hot ladies steam room. Some trees for shady parking and love the fact you need your card to leave, more secure my car.

It's a big club, and even though it can get quite busy, I haven't had to wait for equipment. Not the newest and fanciest equipment, but also not the old rubbish. Nice swimming pool with lots of lanes and the steam room is very hot as it should be. Other clubs are not as hot.

some equipment is old and needs upgrades and to be fixed - tvs etc not working. best to avoid at peak times but gym is large so does not feel as cramped as others when many people around.

I feel right at home when I walk into gym. People are friendly, from the staff to the patrons and there are so many machines you never have to wait to use one, even when it's busy. The change rooms and bathrooms are always clean and smell fresh, just like the club in general. I have no complaints at all about Virgin Active Randburg Club. It's the perfect place to work out.
