About 2 month ago, I was looking for a locksmith to help me get a set of spare keys for my Toyota Hilux as I misplaced mine. I called local locksmiths and they were all closed, I looked on OLX , and came across a guy called Wessel Venter. He said he did contract work for Unique Locksmith and Safe T Locksmith in Boksburg, and he was a registered locksmith. He came to my house very fast, opened my car and took out a few electrical components, and said he would be back the following morning as he needed it to clone and do what he needs to do to make me a spare set of keys. he came back as he said he would, and gave me new keys, they worked fine I was really happy.

Then 2 weeks later my bakkie went missing, from the back of Boksburg flea market, the car guard said a man drove away in the car they thought it was me, the car guard said he walked to the car and opened it with a remote everything looked normal even gave him a tip. He described the guy to look just like Wessel Venter!!! I called him, he obviously denied everything, I called safe t locksmith, they said yes Wessel in fact did work for them, but he left years ago, I them called Unique and they also said yes they know Wessel very well, I did some more research and found of that Wessel Venter has multiple police cases open against him for fraud and theft!

I managed to track down where he lives and works with help of friends, turns out he works from home, in Boksburg out of a house full of cars parked at the back, and I’m POSITIVE I saw my bakkie in the back yard when I drove past, when I came back with the police my car was gone, but there were at least 30x cars at the back, stripped to the shell, it's obviously a chop shop where cars get stripped and sold off as parts. like I said I’ve also opened up a case of theft against Wessel Venter, alone with all the other people, it's just a shame that a companies like Unique locksmith would assist Wessel in his dealings, as Wessel said he contracts for Unique locksmiths and they help him get keys coded at a cheaper price, because he does a lot of keys with them. I also got one of my drivers to sit outside Unique shop in Boksburg and he managed to take photos of Wessel leaving Unique Lock Smith, with lots of car electronic components. I’ve read up on the law and this is very illegal for lock smiths are NOT allowed to help clone keys for people unless they are the registered owner of the car. And it’s Obvious that Wessel is NOT the owner off all the cars.

I've been dealing a lot with Unique locksmith for many years with different cars and keys as i'm from a dealership. The service is excellent and best prices in the market. Would definitely recommend Unique Locksmith to anyone.

I sadly have to give Unique Locksmiths 1 Star. I went there for a quick duplicate key for my car but I had to leave an hour-and-a-half later without said key. Upon arrival my key was checked, they had stock of the blank, I got the price, ordered two spares and thereafter nothing. I eventually had to leave due to other appointments.

My Mom had a Fiat Key Done at this Unique Lock smith and less than 15 Hours later the key failed, the chip came loose. Phoned them to get it fixed and they refused saying that my mom would have to pay again because in that 15 hours we had the key (which 8 hours would of been at night sleeping) they cant say what we had done to the key and how it was handled They Left my mom an Elderly lady Stranded Unable to start the car, because of their terrible workmanship on the key. they Key was not even put on a key ring in the less than 15 hours we had the key. I would not recommend this place to anyone. How does a business not even guarantee their work for 24 hours, is the quality of their keys so bad that they do not take responsibility of what they sell? Poor Quality product, Terrible workmanship, and the worst Customer Service.

Key that was cut doesn't work. Took it back and they said it's fixed. Still doesn't work. I am not wasting my time for a third try. Useless locksmith.
