This was STUNNING .
The tugela falls is really worth the hike.
For anyone going I would recommend that you hike up and spend the night at the top of the mountain .
This hike consists of chain ladders and steep gradients so please carry plenty of water and wear long pants .
The view from the top is very very rewarding , be sure to be up at sunset and sunrise to get the full experience

It's a very beautiful place, beautiful scenes that you discover and I'm sure it's a lovely walk for fit people But I almost died of exhaustion. We guess we walked about 20km over the mountains, climbing over rocks on all fours It's very tiring and hard work. The Chain ladders are quite scary, it's best just to take one step at a time and don't look down This was a crazy hike for me, I'm more of a bookworm type of person and I was not mentally prepared for that much of a challenge I would recommend going with friends, stay close to guides. Pack a lot of food and water! And go on the first shuttle at 8am. It took us 6hours to the falls and back. So you wouldn't want to struggle getting back in the dark

It's well worth climbing the chain ladder to see this spectacular view! Take lots of water as the only water available is on top. Took us 1.5 hours to the chain ladder and another 20min from the top to the falls. The climb up the ladder varies in time. I reckon 2.5 hours to the falls. The first 45min of the hike is the worst in terms off fitness. We hiked from Sentinal Peak car park. The road there is rough, I managed to get through in a polo, I'd recommend a higher vehicle.

This column of water crashes 3,110ft (948m) in Royal Natal National Park, a highlight of KwaZulu-Natal province, South Africa . Officially, this makes it 102ft (31m) shorter than the Angel Falls in Venezuela, though doubts have been raised by some about the exact measurements of the latter.

A frozen Tugela river in June! It was a spectacular site! Loved the entire journey and adventure! Thank goodness for the hut! Kept us sheltered from the wind.

Initially a bit demanding but senior citizens can still do the climb, and you will be greatly rewarded with beautiful scenery seldom seen anywhere else. Although cold, taking a swim in the fall is recommended experience.

One of the most beautiful hiking trails.
Important tips
before the end you will find 3 ways, just climb the chain ladder, then the wire after that you will think that it is the end, but you need to continue about 300 m more beside the river to see the most amazing view, good luck.

Did the hike on the 15th of June 2016. It was the best experience of my life and the top was covered with snow. Magical and enjoyed the last road trip with my 2 Friends from France!
