A must if you're interested in visiting Lesotho. Take the guided tour. The guide will tell you the history of the Basotho. Many interactive moments with actors. You'll have a traditional beer with the chief and you can try on traditional clothes.

Rich culture with enough Basotho history's items to witness. The chief here is allowed to marry 3 women. Interestingly, his first wife is mandated to pick him a second wife before he picks a third.

I loved the view one is having from the village, unfortunately being a tourist attraction point it wasn't quiet. We spend some time going through the display in the main reception area and then walked along the different foot paths experiencing the way this culture used to be.

Situated in the Golden Gate National Park near to the Eastern Gate it has breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys. You can tour the village yourself or take a guided tour where the guide will offer you a lot of insight into the customs, history, culture etc. of the Basotho people. Try the sorgam beer (a little sweet and unfiltered) as well as the other foods.

Visiting the Museum left me feeling connected to my roots as Mosotho. Delicious food And Adventure on mountains is my highlight of the place.

Spectacular view, staff was very friendly, the bathrooms ws clean and neat.
Access via tarred road and located inside the Golden Gate National Park.
We had tradiotional lunch, a huge portion, very well prepared, consisting of coocked cow's stomach with traditional rice and spinach with a bar-b-q sauce. We where the first visitor's for the day.

There are also self catering accomodation walking distance from the village but we did not visit so I am unable to comment.
We travelled with small kids.

I really wanted to learn a little about the Basotho history here. I was hugely disappointed. The guided tour we waited for over half an hour never happened. We paid for the entry to walk through ourselves. There was no information available, none of the traditional characters to talk about the period buildings. You must need the single guide that the place has to appreciate anything, as we just saw some run down huts and buildings with no context. 80 rand for the 5 minutes we stayed. Longer would have provided us no more information or experience unfortunately.

Unless you are coming on an organised bus tour with a guide, spend your time elsewhere.
