Whale Coast Hotel Hermanus
I did stay at the WCH in March 2018.
It was a spontaneous booking, I did however receive an operational upgrade to a 3 bedroom flat.
The WHC is situated in an shopping center, what was a bit surprising but very convenient if you think about upper class hotels offering inhouse shops for a reason. It made of residential flats with a hotel service. The operator seems to run more spaces in that style. Quite convenient if you stay several days, maybe as a family. The have a 24/7 frontdesk. There are plenty shops, dining options and bars around in walking distance. However, Hermanus is not a party town. :-)
The room I got was stunning, 3 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, spacious combined living/dining area with a large kitchen. One bedroom had a balcony with seaview, the livingroom a large deck with a grill. The room have a/c.
What is not included compared to a traditional hotel setup are pool, minibar, restaurant. There is a dining room (seems independent operator) where you can have a breakfast.
Staff was friendly and welcoming.
The organization from greeter over frontdesk to porter was exceptional and one would not expect given the setup.
WiFi was available for free at excellent speed, however it is volume capped.
Definitely a choice if you prefer to have own freedom of cooking/going out and want not to give up hotel services. Ideal for groups/families.response / report this review -

Apartments r nicespacious with full facilitieslocation is also very goodand good pricesnot the best view though..but situated inside a mall and right in the middle of the shopping area so there's that.

Fantastic stay. Definitely go back. Unfortunately had a black out the 2nd night and no procedure was in place. Well done to all friendly and helpful staff.

The location is perfect, as it is right in the center of town and walking distance to the bay.The views from the rooms are great to wake up to.Very spacious apartment, nicely decorated and very clean and well equipped.Security was good ,which included lock up underground parking.Very friendly staff. Well priced. Recommended.

Very central, clean rooms, comfortable beds, good breakfast friendly stuff. All in all good value for money BUT the hotel is the top floor of a shopping mall which was a first for us. Rooms are quiet though.

Quirky hotel built above a shopping mall (which was actually really convenient). Great split level family accommodation with 2 bedrooms and very spacious downstairs area. Very well equipped, comfortable and clean. Great central location, walking distance to restaurants and sea front. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Excellent, self-catering accommodation. The only drawback is the view of the parking lot. Will definitely stay again. It's walking distance to all the shops and restaurants.

Neat, clean and has everything you would require plus comfort and luxury. There's enough toilets for the five of us, there's room service and a dishwasher, scullery and separate vegetable sink, lovely view, tv in room and lounge and conveniently close to stores! Plus the staff are friendly, helpful and respect privacy. Great place to stay!

Apartments are spacious and well decorated. Views.. mountains in the distance over a parking lot. Rooms are on top of a shopping centre

Comfortable stay. Nice interior and well equipped. Negative critique: the television barely worked and the amount of cutlery and crockery did not allow for additional guests.
